Looks like old particle board underlayment. You could kilz it if worried about smell. Otherwise usually there is a 1/2 ply layer under it as the actual sub floor. Look in a floor register to confirm. If so and you are worried about it, pull the particle board out and replace it with t&g osb.

Looking great! Like the wiring, Clean panel as it should be. (so many are huge mess)

I had considered the ac adapter too but with a larger battery I never found I needed the ac power. That thing just runs and runs on a 5 ah battery.

I would go with the 14. With the 12 you are having to bridge 4 ft and that’s a bit much at 16 high. Do you need to get up that high often? Bakers scaffold with outriggers is another albeit spendier option but is somewhat easily stored too.

Shellack’d mine and happy with it. I don’t beat on the surface much but for a general work surface it’s held up well.

I use a length of 3/4 copper soft line to connect between the dishwasher output and the disposal. 2 clamps on the rubber parts to be safe.
