    Name that tool: shooter's edition

I found this great homemade aluminum box at an estate sale a few years ago, and it contained a bunch of bore brushes and other gun cleaning stuff, and a mystery tool that I couldn't figure out. Along with these cool old containers of oil and solvent, the black tool seems to be a multi-tool of...

Today's modular cabinet score, not sure of mfg though

So this cabinet came up on Offerup earlier in the week, and I could see from the pics that it looked like a Lista or Vidmar. The name label is missing, but there is a little recess where it used to be. It's filthy and has already been repainted once, but it will clean up pretty well. I might...

    Cast iron or **** steel?

I picked up a cheap HF 4x6 horizontal bandsaw this week with a known problem - the moving jaw nut was broken, but fortunately the owner kept the parts so I could attempt a repair. Apart from that and a shocking amount of brass powder in the gearbox, it's in great shape and I'm just clamping...

Garage sale find - homebrew tool

Went out for a drive this morning and saw a garage sale sign with the magic words: "shop tools." Found the place and started looking around - definitely a guy sale, lots of hand tools, organized bins of hardware, a few engine stands and a cherry picker, a nice old Craftsman drill press from the...

    Another "name that tool" thread...

I found these things in a thrift store for $1 each, and couldn't say no, despite not knowing what they are (pliers are for scale.) Does anyone recognize them? The pins protruding from the adjustable jaws have sleeves that appear to be riding on bearings (they turn a bit rough, so I'm not sure.)...

    Need a big electric motor?

I spotted several of these at the local county surplus store last week: to give you a sense of scale, it's sitting on a full sized pallet, and those are 2x4's in the foreground. 125 hp would make one hell of a buffer...

Craigslist alert - metal lab cabinets in West Palm Beach, FL

No affiliation with the seller (other than buying a different cabinet from him,) but these steel lab cabinets look like a great deal for $150. He also has some interesting computer workstations (remember when computers were big? Neither do I...)

    Greetings from sunny south Florida!

Hello, I've been lurking here for a number of years, but finally signed recently to see the photos and hopefully contribute to the discussion when I can. My garage is a typical cluttered suburban 2-car unit, but I'm working on replacing the clutter with some organization. Glad to be here :rocker:
