Addicted to Rust. How to tell vintage USA crow bars?

If a crow bar has no branding on it, is there any way to tell if it is an older or usa product? Please see pics. This is a 22 inch bar, currently not in my possession....but might be soon : ) depending on comments. No branding is visible but could have lettering under the rust, as I...

Rare / unusual 1971 tool - RATCHLOK locking wrench by Summit Tool Co. Any love for this one?

I have this odd locking wrench by the Summit Tool Company, 1971. Wondered if anyone had any experience with it. I was trying to decide if it was worth keeping on my already-too-large collection. The ideas seems to be of some merit --- you turn the screw as tight as you can on the nut, then...

Good trade for a 1967 (?) Craftsman stack ... top and bottom tool boxes

So on Facebook market place, I just traded two early 1900's cast iron 22" wheels for this Craftsman stack, even up....matched top and bottom. The guy said it sat out for a couple weeks and has flash rust on the surface, but inside is amazingly clean with no fade of the red and no rust. So I...

"FOREIGN" stamp on older tools...what era is it exactly? German?

I have this really nice set of older 10 inch dividers, stamped FOREIGN. There seems scant info on this moniker....but I have found that the tool might be post WW 1.... a company would mark its own products that it was going to export. It seems like Germany may have done this. Anyone have any...

Problem with Desmond W7 woodworker's vise...driving me nuts....

I have a woodworker's Desmond W7 vise. It seems to have some design that prevents the handle from making a complete revolution and I can't seem to solve how it is supposed to function or what the feature is supposed to accomplish. See second pic of the blue vise....I circled the two "nubs"...

Flood Penetrol..restoration of tools and vises

I would love to get some feedback from others on using Flood Penetrol on vintage and antique tools, as a way to maintain an original look and patina but also put a clear coat on it. I am thinking of doing this on a large 1946 Wilton vise instead of paint. Any thoughts?
