    Craftsman worm drive saw parts

I have a Craftsman 134.276102 worm drive saw that needs repair (I'm guessing the armature is shot, maybe bearings), and according to searspartsdirect.com, every single part is obsolete and unavailable. I'm guessing the saw was made by Skil... does it line up with a particular model and/ or will...

What grease for an electric drill?

I am refurbishing a 1/2" Dormeyer drill bought by my grandfather in 1955. Is there a particular grease best suited to use in electric hand tools? (any "multi- purpose" grease, wheel bearing grease, or something else I'm missing) The old stuff I scraped out seems pretty stiff... is that due to...

    Auction purchase: Challenger socket set

I picked up a very nice, complete Challenger 24 pc. Socket set (no. 2095) at an auction last weekend. Looks very lightly used, there are a few cracks in the plastic holder. I have kind of kept an eye out for one of these, as we have an empty metal case for a similar set in the farm shop, but the...

    Sears ladder suppliers

Hope this isn't stretching the "vintage tools" subject, but I figured you guys were my best bet for an answer. Does anyone know where Sears would have sourced aluminum extension ladders in the time frame of about 1968- 1975 or so? I have a 16' ladder that is labeled "Sears", but otherwise seems...

a couple new (to me) craftsman toolboxes

I picked up a couple old craftsman toolboxes at a garage sale a couple weeks ago. One is, I believe, called a carpenter's box, and is of the crown logo era. The other, older tombstone style box has the leather handle. Neither had trays, and both are a little rough, but at $2 apiece, I felt...

    Lincoln welder parts?

Probably a real shot in the dark here, but does anyone have a good source for NOS Lincoln welder parts? I have a Montgomery Ward's Powr Kraft stick welder that is a re badged Lincoln (I believe model 180-T.) As seen in the pictures, this model uses push-in spade terminals for the ground and...

    old anvil?

Can anyone tell me about this anvil? I see no sign of markings on it. I am also wondering about the "T" shaped slot in it. I am just now wondering if it is actually part of a vice; maybe that raised end makes the static jaw, and the slide would have gone through the "T"? Thanks for any help.
