    Mystery (to me) Tool

Anyone know what this tool is supposed to be used for. Looks like a wedge to separate something. Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk

    UB70 Angle Bender

I recently got one of these benders. They include worthless directions that tell you nothing. Now these things are not rocket science but there are 2 attachments that are a bit of a mystery. The first pic is a clamp with a cutout...no clue what this is for. Second pic is of 2 pushers. Left one...

    Disc Golf Target Build

A few months ago my son asked me if I would make him a Disc Golf Target to practice with in his back yard. I knew nothing about disc golf but said, of course I would. Now you can't just throw these things together any old way you feel like because they have to be made to the correct diemensions...

    Unusual Jack Stands

Picked these up last weekend at a garage sale and have never seen any quite like them. They may even be homemade. If anyone has ever seen them or knows who made them please let me know. They are adjusted with a 1-1/4inch acme screw and the large adjustment wheel. I added the 4 strips of steel to...

    Another mystery tool

Anyone ever seen this tool and know what it was used for. Looks like it may have been part of an auto tool kit or may not even be auto related. The tool has this stamped on it: ABC in an oval with an arrow thru it. 12 x 13 (mm) Chrome - Vanadium Made in W-Germany

1/4 inch drive metric swivel socket set

Anyone have a decent set of these other than the high dollar tool truck brand. I only need these about once or twice a year and would rather not break the bank on them. Impact or nonimpact would be fine. Any good recommendations?

Calling all Buick experts--Seat belt alert issue

My daughter has a 2007 Buick LaCrosse with a seat belt problem. Sit in the driver's seat, put on the seat belt, and after a minute or so, the fasten seat belt chime starts going off and will not shut up. This happens even though the seat belt is fastened. Before I start cutting wires or...

Floor Jacks NAPA and Arcan XL325R Side by Side

There seems to be a lot of interest from people about floor jacks and what kind should I buy. This is just a comparison between the NAPA (year 2000 probably made by either Lincoln or Hein Werner, not sure) and the new version of the Arcan XL325R that is made for and sold at Cosco by Arcan Tools...

    A Bright Idea

I am pretty sure that someone else has thought of this before I did but anyway here is my way of "Brightening Up" things. Ever wish you had more light when doing work on a front end, or doing a brake job or working on a door panel or a fender? I had put out some metal on the floor the other day...

    Anybody know what these are?

One is 45 degrees and the other is 60 degrees. The only writing on them is Pat'd Made in USA (back when we used to make stuff). The abrasive is just emery cloth that you can change out when it wears out.

    Jet Bench Grinder Restore

Found an 8 inch Jet Bench Grinder at a yard sale a couple of weeks ago with a hefty stand (that would probably hold up a ship). It was kind of a mess so I did my best to bring it back to it's original glory.

    Lock Out Tools

Anybody have any good recommendations for lockout tools. It seems like lately more of my family, friends, little old ladies are locking their keys in their cars. I have always used wooden wedges and a coat hanger with some degree of success but sometimes these "tools" scratch the paint which I...

When do you stop buying tools

For those of us who are not kids anymore and have retired or are close to retiring do you think that you will all of a sudden just stop buying tools? It seems like I am constantly checking Craigs List, going to yard sales, going to Flea Mkts still looking for something that I don't have or that...

Old tires sold as new. Scary information.

Don't know how many people know about this. I never did. Read this to the end, it is pretty scary. http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=4826897

First oil change on a new car

I am one of the old fashioned every 3000 mile oil change guys and have always been on all my cars. But what mileage do you guys recommend for that first oil change on a new car. I have always done the first one at 1000 miles. What does everyone think about the first one?

    Anvil Stand

I picked up a Hay Budden anvil about a month ago on Craigslist. After looking at the anvil stands on I Forge Iron I decided to copy some of their ideas and build a proper stand for this ancient beauty. The anvil only weighs 104# so the "anvil people" call this a small one. I suppose they are...

    Dumb Air Line Question

Never have owned a retractable reel air line but I am thinking about getting one. They all have a round chunk of rubber or plastic that keeps the hose end from going all the way into the reel. This rubber stopper looks very close to the connector where you attach an air tool. Does anyone find...
