My daughter has a 2007 Buick LaCrosse with a seat belt problem. Sit in the driver's seat, put on the seat belt, and after a minute or so, the fasten seat belt chime starts going off and will not shut up. This happens even though the seat belt is fastened. Before I start cutting wires or replacing things, does anyone know how to fix this annoying problem.

It may not be the drivers seat that is the problem. My wifes car has some sort of pressure sensor in the passengers seat. If someone is sitting in it and doesn't buckle the seatbelt the warning chime starts going off. Try buckling the passengers seat belt and see if that stops it. If it does then at least you know where to start.

The easiest way to diagnose this one is with a Tech2, the switch position monitors will tell you which one is bad or intermittent. Otherwise you are looking under both seats for a broken wire or bad buckle. Look for evidence of liquids or debris in the buckles.

kmacht might be on the right track.
I have heard stories of the Sun paper on the passenger side setting of the chime.
