    Hand Scraping

Anyone here get into scraping? It’s a bit of a lost art. I have been doing flat work for a little bit, as shown in the photo. I started with a homemade ground HSS scraper, but currently have a 25mm wide Sandvik scraper, which is great for flat parts, but it is a bit bulky for small dovetails...

    Rehab old micrometers

I recently pick up a 1-12” micrometer set with standards for my everyday “I don’t really care” use, so that I could save wear and tear on my nice Brown and Sharp micrometer I use for precision work. They appear to be older, and the grease in them seems to have dried out and hardened. Very...

    Mighty Seven Angle Grinder

I am looking into getting a new 4-1/2” angle grinder. In the past I had good luck with IR, but it seems the quality you get for your money is going down hill. More a pay for the name thing now unless you get their top tier tools. As an alternative I am thinking of giving this a try, the...

Why do people have a downer on pin clutch impacts?

I have both twin hammer and pin clutch impacts in 1/2 and 3/4 drive, and unless a bolt is seriously rusted, I prefer the pin clutch impacts. They just sseem to be smoother (less bounce), and they also run nuts down nuts faster than my twin hammers. So, I am just curious why they don’t seem to...

Table Saw Cast Iron Trunion Way Lube

Hey guys, looking for your $0.02 I stripped down my old Rockwell International table saw the other day to clean it up, change bearings, etc... When reassembling, what would you use to lube the trunion ways? They are cast iron. Previously lubed with grease, but it gummed up something horrible...

    3/4 Drive Socket Organizer

What socket organizers do you use for your 3/4 drive sockets? This summer I got sick of all my impact sockets rolling around my tool drawers, so I got a set of sae and metric peg style organizers to put my standard and deep sockets in. As far as I see, these are only available in 1/4, 3/8, and...

3/8 Industrial VS Hi-Flo V style Air Fittings

Hello all, I am looking to standardize air fittings in my shop. With some newer tools that hog more air, I am looking to replace all the 1/4” M style industrial fittings in my shop with something that flows more air. My question is which is going to be a better air fitting to standardize the...
