Yup, 3/4 rapid air aluminum core polyethylene maxline. Couldn’t beat it for the price. Running copper would have been more than double the cost.

Over the weekend I got the new compressor moved into position and wired into the breaker panel. I have It set on vibration damping pads, but yet to anchor it down.

Funny story about this compressor. I have a diabolical pet peeve of stores slapping their house brand label on someone else’s good product. This compressor is made by Sanborn-MFG, but is sold through over a dozen privet label brand names. This drives me nuts, so I called up Sanborn MFG and asked if this compressor was available in the states with the Sanborn label. They explained that currently only Princess Auto in Canada has the rights to sell “Sanborn” branded compressors. Long story short, they offered to send me a tank sticker free of charge to replace the existing sticker.

Hmm guess your right. Looks like Menards has them all private labelled Masterforce now. They sold them under the Sanborn name for a long time, probably still some on the floor with the Sanborn name

They stocked the 60 gallon single stage ones on the store floor, but the 80 gallon two stage compressors were special order from Sanborn. Same with the three cylinder single stage 80 gallon compressors. Our local store still has a few of the smaller portable Sanborn units sitting out. As people buy the display models, they are replaced with “Masterforce.”

Reason is, no store wants to deal with price matching. If you have your own brand, you don’t have to price match competitors.

I finished the piping this weekend. I have four air drops, two on each side of the shop. The trickiest part was getting the long line up and over the ceiling. The Maxline tubing is relatively easy to work with, but can be a bit unruly at times. Especially when running long distances. It comes in a coil, and you can straighten it all you want, but with the thin aluminum core, it will bend when more than five or six feet is left unsupported. While trying to hang a long section, that can be a pain. Overall I am quite happy with it.
