    Air Compressor drier

Looking for a new in-line drier for my new IR 80 gallon compressor. Going to have 2 hose reels centered in the shop opposite of each other. Main use will be a plasma cutter, so I need it dry and no auto oiler. The plasma cutter will have a small final water catch on itself. Seeing Klutch...

    Band saws

Looking for a metal cutting band saw. Something between $400-$800 for a home hobby shop. At least a 4” wide cut ability on a 90 degree cut, would be awesome if it could do 4” on a 45. The most important feature I’m looking for is to be able to take it from horizontal to vertical cutting.

    Gas Fireplace Logs

We are looking to put in gas logs instead of wood due to the odor and how it affects my wife’s allergies. We are on propane via a 200 gallon tank. There is a pressure regulator on the outside of the house. We are being told that we need a regulator in the firebox by one company and another...

    Underground cable question.

We had a box installed on the outside of the shop to give power to a pond pump some exterior lights. Right now that box is capped as are the wires in it. I need to bury cable/wires underground for about for about 25 feet to get them where I need the plugs for the pump and light. How deep do I...

    Lighting is done... it’s BRIGHT

Finally got my lights shipped and installed, waited almost 2 months for everything to line up. Went with LED highbay lights, 16,500 lumens, 5,000k. 9 lights in a 30x40 shop, lights are 18 feet in the middle and 13 feet on the sides. 3 rows of 3 with each row on its own switch.

    Fans

What’s everybody using for fans? I don’t want anything over head or on the floor, plan to mount it to my center I beams. Right now I’m considering 2 Schaefer F5’s...

    Show me your tube benders

I’m looking at the JD2-32 with the SWAG off-road air over hydraulic ram. I like the idea of it being portable (around the shop) vs being bolted down. What else is everybody using?

    How did you...

How did you run the wire in your shop and why? I’m not looking for layouts, I’m more concerned about romex, armored, or in conduit. And did you run the electric before or after spray foam insulation if you had that done?

    Lets see those rock driveways

Ok, shop is nearly completed as far the structure goes. It sits roughly 100 feet from the paved driveway to the front of the shop. The are needs to be driveable and I need to be able to park trailers between the shop and the fence, so total length would be 140 feet. Rough estimations come out to...

    welding table bowed top, help

I’ve got a heavy welding/general purpose table that has a bowed top. It’s a 5/8 5x5 top with 2x4x1/4 frame and 4x4x1/4 legs. The top is warped up, and I need it flat. I have a piece of 2x4x1/4 that I can add diagonally underneath, or I can get I-beak if that’s better. My plan is to place the...

A shop for a motor swap

We built our house on 1 acre a few years ago with ZERO intention of ever adding a shop in the back. Why would we need to? We had a 4,000 square foot shop 25 minutes away. HAD! That's a long story! Suddenly I found myself packing a 3 car garage with my tools, my 1972 Camaro, SxS, zero turn mower...

    30x40x14 lighting thoughts

My building will be going up in the next 2 weeks, weather permitting, and then I will be starting the wiring. For lighting, I was told to use "high-bay LED" lights, but the electricians that have given me quotes stated that I only need 2 lights, that doesn't seem like enough. Building will be...
