No spray foam, wish I had. I still would have ran electric after spray foam.
95% EMT 5% BX.
Conduit is (of course) more durable than romex and looks better in my opinion.
And ...yes, I've already redone a couple of circuits to change things around in the 5 years since building.

That’s my concern, I have what I feel like is “too many” plugs, but as we all know, things change.

I ran conduit under the floor and stubbed up in 8 different areas around the perimeter of the shop. That way I can come up into some junction boxes and kick off in any direction where I need power. Underground is 3/4" and 1" PVC that transitions to RMC through the concrete. From there, I used EMT to go where I needed power.

In todays world of cordless tools and chargers needing plugins I don't think you can have too many plugs.
In my shop I used MC cable as that's what my electrician friend tossed on the floor and said, this is what we'll use and it won't cost you a thing.

I ran EMT in the walls...4” boxes w plaster rings. Sheetrock mostly, some T&G in high impact areas. All lighting is just Romex since it is above the ceilings and will never need to be revised w new pulls, etc. (And I have access above anyway)
For mods I can place a extension box over an existing, and run EMT surface mount- OR- punch down from above, run EMT on the wall surface down to a box. Haven’t needed to in 15 years.

My garage is a typical two car attached with drywall. Outlets are surface mount EMT up the wall and stubbed into the attic or horizontal under cabinets. Romex in the attic to the breaker panel. Lights are romex in the attic.

Triple taps, power strips, and extension cords....... In the process of running romex thru the studs.
How did you run the wire in your shop and why?
I’m not looking for layouts, I’m more concerned about romex, armored, or in conduit. And did you run the electric before or after spray foam insulation if you had that done?
Nothing in the walls because that was too exhaustive and final for me. Wiring will be surface EMT once the insulating and boarding are complete.
In the meantime, its 2-3 temp panels (with their own outlets) distributed around the shop.
I ran 1/2 and 3/4 conduit around the perimeter of my 30' x 60' garage after I dry walled. Put in a lot of outlets and junction boxes and spare wires for future. The 3/4 is for my 240v outlets. I ran my airlines in a similar way(painted blue). I like the industrial look.
