What's the complete shaft look like and how long is it?

How to attch a patio ledger to stucco home?

This right here^^^^ I'd put 6x6 post in and build off of those instead of attaching anything to the house.

Squirrels under the shed. It's personal this time...

This is why I just poured a concrete slab to set my shed on. Getting tired of critters getting underneath.

    Mouse in the Lawn?

Moles eat grubs. Voles will eat roots of plants and bulbs. and seeds. In the winter, if you have snow, they will burrow in the snow and eat the bark at the base of trees.

    Asphalt versus concrete?

I had a concrete turnaround drive in front of our house. I had it taken out and put in asphalt. For one, the winters we were having we were getting ice buildup on the concrete that would become a safety hazard. With asphalt....the sun comes out and everything is melted off.

    Garage wall refurb

Forget the fireblocking. Insulate it, drywall it, and paint it to whatever color you desire.

Should I buy a Skid Steer?

Buying one for only a 1/4 acre....NO. But buying one with a truck and a trailer to move it around and you can make some good coin. I have a CUT with a loader and had to move a lot of dirt yesterday. Took me about 4 hours. With a skid steer, I would have been done in 45 minutes. And this was...

Just relocated to DFW and everything is RUSTING

You moved into a humid area this time of the year. Squirt the stuff down with WD-40 and call it a day. There are no miracle cures to stop it unless you move to a place with no humidity. Desiccant's, heater pads, waxing things down....unless you are really **** retentive and want to spend your...

Burns Projects that will never be finished

You can anodize which is basically a die and serves no purpose but aesthetics. But there is a hard anodize that significantly reduces wear. We used to make aircraft products and had them hard anodized. Here's an article that explains it a little.... http://www.delsplating.com/hard-anodizing.html

    O-Ring Material for Diesel Fuel

Seriously? Everyone getting in a ******* contest over what material to use? ****....I'd just go to John Deere and get what they use and call it a day. Or replace it with what you have on hand and if it ends up leaking replace it with something else. With the way everyone is arguing back and...

Strong, wear resistant bench-top wood finish recommendation?

If you want to keep it looking good for years, cover it with a piece of clear plastic. Then you can always keep some pictures or whatever underneath.

Large cracks in garage floor will Rust-Oleum repair work.

I'd clean that crack out really well using either a power washer, or use an airhose to blow everything out, then wash it out. After that, get some mortar mix to fill it. Let that settle in and cure, then use a leveling compound over that if you are going to finish the floor.

Oil Stains on Wood Trailer Floor

If it's soaked into plywood, you're not getting it out. If you want to add vinyl, put down some luan underlayment first, then put down your vinyl.

Are Proposals for Asphalt Driveway Negotiable?

That's 4 1/2 football field lengths long, plus gravel, plus grading, plus 3" of asphalt.....If I'm thinking correctly, that contractor is going to bend you over and you'll end up with a **** job at best. I'm fairly certain I would be getting some different estimates, and I would be wanting to...

    Slab pour inside frost walls

WOW!!!! Have you ever really done anything like this before? I hate to say but what you are wanting to do sounds like a ramass way of doing things without any real thought at all. I understand that you have to be down to the frost line for your footers, but what you are doing is not right in...

Planning a covered porch - column question

How wide is your porch going to be? I would use 6x6 post, but maybe space them at 8' instead of 15'. For one, whatever header you put up to hold the roof will sag at 15'. And at 15', if you want to put a railing around the porch for any reason, you'll get into issues over an 8' spacing. If you...

    Duplicolor Perfect match paint feedback

Your best bet is to get the paint code and have the exact color mixed up. I wouldn't be too enthused about Dupli-Color.

Painting unfinished garage: roll, spray, or pay?

12 pack of beer, stereo cranked up, paint at hand, and go at it. Get in the zone and all is good. Just make sure you have a good Sash brush for going around the edges.
