Help me cool my shop (mini split)

I just finished building a house and have a 23 x 25 (575 sq/ft) detached garage that I will use as my shop. It is completely foam insulated and I plan to put insulation panels on the garage door as well. Garage door is very well sealed. There is a decked attic above the garage. I am south of...

    Rubber gym flooring for garage?

My garage does not see any heavy work. It's full of kids toys and a few dirtbikes that I do minor mechanical work on. More of a man cave and a place to keep stuff. My wife used to park her Tahoe in there but now theres not enough room and she hasnt parked in there in a couple years. Even if she...

    Rubber gym flooring for garage?

I got offered some 1/2” thick rubber flooring recently taken out of a large gym. It is 4’ x 4’ and I grabbed enough square footage for my garage. I’ve been wanting to do something with my garage floor for a while now but never pulled the trigger. This was free so figured what the heck I’ll take...

    Another Racedeck thread, have questions

Thanks for addressing the buckling in sunlight issue. What about my concerns with the tiles sliding and/or shifting on my slick floor? Also, are the diamond tiles slippery when wet? I'd like to also hear from some customers on their personal experiences.

    Another Racedeck thread, have questions

Well, I live in this house and can assure you that the front half of my garage floor gets hammered by the sun in the afternoon/evening during summer time. The sun doesn't set directly in front of the garage door, but at an angle a bit to the left.

    Another Racedeck thread, have questions

When I bought my house 6 years ago I had a company apply a polyaspartic floor sealer in the garage. It is very smooth and shiny and looks really good. It is also extremely slippery when wet. I have 2 kids and friends over all the time and I'm ready to stop worrying about someone getting hurt...

    Pegboard Tool Hanging...is an Art!!!

I dont have any of the big expensive tool boxes, so I use peg board and love it. I can see where all my stuff is and grab it at any time. It does **** trying to find all the right hooks for it though. Half the time I have to buy a variety pack of hooks and only a handful of them are any good.

What type of concrete finish is on the floors at Home Depot stores?

Any idea on what it cost to have a professional do it? Can it be done in my garage? Is it comparable (in cost) to epoxy?

What type of concrete finish is on the floors at Home Depot stores?

Does anyone know what type of coating is used on the floors at the Home Depot stores? I was in there yesterday and the floor is polished nice and smooth and has a nice gloss finish on it. It may be slightly darker than a regular bare concrete floor. What is this coating process they used? Is...

    Can you tell me....

Thanks. I didnt know it needed THAT much upkeep. I figured I would keep it swept and mop every now and then and wax every other year. If that wont cut it, Im not sure I would be willing to do what it takes. Believe it or not, Ive gotten 2 different quotes for epoxy, and 2 different quotes for...

    Can you tell me....

Thanks for that advice, but we have 2 completely different uses for our garages. Mine will only see light work.... no cherry pickers with motors hanging... I probably wont even have my wifes car on jack stands in the garage. I'll just back it out and work on it in the driveway right in front of...

    Can you tell me....

..... what are some main reasons NOT to use VCT in the garage? Every garage flooring has its positives and negatives. I still can not decide what to use. I will not be doing any commercial or industrial work in the garage. Just typical homeowner type stuff like working on the riding mower or...

    Ceiling trusses on 48" centers....

I met with a professional and he said that adding a 2 x 12 joist in between the existing joist would be acceptable. That would give me ceiling joist every 24" OC, which he said would be fine since the space above is only being used for storage. He said if it was an actual living space above...
