    Hiding a support post

    This is a lally post - it's metal with concrete inside that is a supporting the structure. I would like this to look as clean as possible. I'm thinking it's going to require framing and dry wall. It's a PITA but i'd rather do it right.

    I would definitely like it to be painted and do not want to wrap it in carpet. I'm torn between boxing it in with wood and filling the inside with expanding foam. Or wrapping it in metal studs then sheet rocking it that way. I holding out hope that i'll find some clean easy solution but so far...
