picts of your in-floor heat set ups.

Ya, the price difference in up-sizing the boiler wasn't too huge relative to the money that I have dumped into the shop, and I wanted to make sure I had enough juice. I ran the heat loss calcs, but I don't have a ton of faith in them. Oh well. It is run on two 50amp circuits (two 10kw heaters...

picts of your in-floor heat set ups.

I just got my system dry fit today. Nothing is soldered yet, so now is the time to change anything. The flow is clockwise. I am running pex from the end of the copper down to the manifold (about 10 feet below the boiler). The pump is a taco 007. The boiler is a 20kw Steibel Eltron.

    Difference Between Hydro-Shark and Tempra

I just talked to Stiebel Eltron. They said that there is no difference between the HydroShark boiler and the Tempra boiler. The "Hydroshark" has a different name because it is part of the "hydrosmart" package (turnkey). The boilers are the same.

    Difference Between Hydro-Shark and Tempra

Can someone explain to me the difference between the Hydro-Shark 3 and the Tempra. They appear to both be made by Stiebel Eltron, and they look the same.

    Inland Northwest 40X70 Stick Frame

OK, now for the radiant heat. After we final graded with the gravel, we put down a 6 mil vapor barrier, then 2" foam insulation. We put the insulation up the perimeter and cut it on a 45° angle. I ended up cutting the top 1/2" down so that the foam doesn't show. I know that is going to make...

Electrical inspected and finaled...now back to the floor. I had to plumb in the drain-waste-vent system. This was a totally new endeavor for me, but I think I got it done well enough. We will have a full bathroom, kitchen sing, and washing machine drain. I also put in some electrical conduit...

    Inland Northwest 40X70 Stick Frame

Next was the electrical. At first, I just wanted to get the power to the shop panel, get it approved, then move onto pouring the floor. When I went to go get it inspected, the inspector told me that I had to have exterior lights over all man doors, and an interior switch at every man door that...

    Inland Northwest 40X70 Stick Frame

We also put in a 3000 gallon water holding tank (cistern). Our well is about 7 gallons a minute, but there is some sediment in it. So there are a couple of reasons that I wanted to put the cistern in. The main reason is that our wellhead is not easy to access in the winter or spring (snow and...

    Inland Northwest 40X70 Stick Frame

Time to post some more pictures. Septic system... We got approved for a traditional gravity system, so the overall system is pretty standard. It is a 1000 gallon tank with 4 runs of 67' drainfield lines. I opted to go with the infiltrators instead of your standard gravel fill. These things...

    1/2" or 3/4" Pex?

PH - No, I am using a friend of mine that does some great flatwork in the area. Spyder - It's getting a little late, but I think we will be okay. It has been getting down to about 28 at night. Hopefully it doesn't get too much colder, or I may be in trouble. Being that the shell is already...

    LED flood light W/motion sensor?

I am looking at purchasing an LED area light too. I am looking at two brands: Crosstour and Atlas. Both are "LED Wallpacks". The ones that I am looking at are about $300. One is a 50W and one is an 84W. They both have the motion sensor, but with the low amount of energy that they take, I...
