    Tekton tin snips

They stopped that so fast and just went to rebranding anything they could. I'd only choose Tekton for anything a person would abuse and just use the warranty for replacement. It's internet Harbor Freight with a higher price to justify the convenience.

Snap-On won't private label their best selling offerings to a lower priced seller. Every dealer in the country to instantly have a class action lawsuit. I'd guess they don't mind the yellow handle pliers because 1) they are still wholesaling at the same essential price and 2) not like yellow...

What are some of the tools manufacturers could make, but don't make?

Honestly I have no idea why Klein has never made a hard handle version of their iconic handles. Offer it in both the yellow/black and just solid black. If I get time I'm going to do an A.I. version of it.

His and Hers Tools - Wedding Gift Ideas?

Unless you're referring to PEX, the supply lines before that were PVC. Before that was copper.

His and Hers Tools - Wedding Gift Ideas?

I'm going to take a wild guess and say your probably over 65 years old and are stuck in some old ways. New houses or any built or remodeled in the last 25-30 years have PVC pipes for supply and DWV. The only pipes in a house that would need a pipe wrench are gas lines. I wouldn't ever...

His and Hers Tools - Wedding Gift Ideas?

Don't take offense, but this is all terrible advice except for the screwdrivers, which the person already likely has. A block plane? Really? A hand saw for "trim work"? Who does that and get's even close to acceptable results? The last thing I'd get anyone these days is a pipe wrench.

    Converting Porch into room

That's IF someone is permitting. I know the OP said they were, but I'm saying if not, there will be no harm done by not matching the original house footings.

    Converting Porch into room

If the current porch didn't cause any damage in the last 71 years at a frost line depth, then an addition at or below that line likely will have the same results.

    Converting Porch into room

Honestly the $10,000 for digging a hole and doing blocks will be well worth it. Below frost line but doesn't have to be the same as original. Doing some proper water prevention like tile drain will prevent any movement. Do it once and do it right I guess is my ultimate guidance.

    Do you use vintage tools?

I think this is the key to the whole debate. For example, some tools haven't changed design in 100 years or more. Putty knife from the 1940s is in all intents and purposes no different than one made yesterday.

    Milwaukee USA-Made Hand Tools (i.e. Pliers) ****

Not his channel, but you're right that LAST BEST TOOL rarely seems to have used tools featured.

100 year old doug fir vs modern spruce/pine/fir

No .... the old stuff was just milled starting with a huge *** log. Looking at the rings the tree would have been roughly 4x the diameter.

Well, to be fair, if whatever he has seemingly bought without thinking about it works, maybe that's a sentiment across the overall workforce that has some merit. In your example, if the Breman (or Milwaukee since they are practically the same) work for all but the 1%, are they really that bad...

    Chapman Mfg. being acquired.

I'm curious what new tools they are talking about releasing as that arena seems a bit crowded so anything new to the market needs to be innovative, high quality, and/or worth more than their cost.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Going to call this complete. My rendition of how it would have come from the factory. Painted frame and blued screw. I have almost no use for it. If someone wants to trade, let me know.
