I have an addiction to rare sockets, please help. Also, a list of some rare sockets.

LoL. Yes, it is a bit odd. I have a similar problem with fasteners. I just like to have them, and to organise them and to label them. Wierdos unite!

How about a socket for removing struts from a VW? It's open so you can use a hex key to stop the strut turning. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-schwaben-parts/strut-nut-socket-22mm/003046sch01a-04/

Man door vs. 7' garage door

If you want to get your motorcycles out through this door a mandoor is useless as are steps. You'll just not use it because it's too much hassle. Do what patternp said. And stay a few inches above grade so if you have a downpour it doesn't come in. You need a ramp anyway, another few inches...

what is this (possibly woodworking) tool?

Thanks for the suggestions all. I can see it being used to turn down a dowel to a smaller size if the blade was advanced a bit into the wood. It has a backstop too.

what is this (possibly woodworking) tool?

A friend has aquired this tool. We don't know what it is for, we think some kind of woodworking. Does anyone know what it is? Can you explain how to use it?

No. A buddy of mine knows an electrical contractor in town. Got it through him.

220v ceiling mount heater in Canada?

My apologies, the one I bought was a RUH5T. Not a RUH54, not sure where I got that. I have finally unpacked and attached some photos, as promised some weeks ago. Should get this up over the Christmas break.

    Boycott Autozone

Not sure what the right thing to do would have been. Co-operate probably. This would all read very differently if when confronted, the gunman had shot both of them. Or if one of them fired and missed and nailed a passer-by. Glad it worked out though, shame the employee didn't shoot the...

220v ceiling mount heater in Canada?

Oh sorry! I get it now. Yeah, I think they are on a loser there. Didn't it say somewhere they had been using it for 7 years or something? As for pics, I guess I could post a couple. Will install over xmas I'd think. Could start an install thread if anyone is interested.

220v ceiling mount heater in Canada?

Pretty sure you could consider it all you like, but I don't think you'd have a leg to stand on.

220v ceiling mount heater in Canada?

Mine does not have a built in thermostat. FUH54 is available with or without. (Wall mounted means I won't have to get the stepladder out everytime I want to adjust the temp). Anyhow, I'll post a thread during the install for those who want to see. By then I'll have obtained a suitable...

220v ceiling mount heater in Canada?

I got it through a friend of a friend who has an electrical wholesale place in town here. The version I got doesn't have a thermostat, it's supplied without it.

220v ceiling mount heater in Canada?

I picked up an FUH54. With no thermo. Will hardwire and wall mount a thermostat. As for construction heaters as permanent heat, I've never felt it was a good idea. The elements get too hot. Seems to be a few GJ winnipeggers here?

220v ceiling mount heater in Canada?

I think construction heaters as a permanent source of heat might be a bad move wouldn't it? The coils get a lot hotter than the permanent types. I would expect them to cost more to run too.
