Outlaw's Canedy Otto Royal 18 Drill Press

I have an old DP I had listed on Craigslist but I didn't know the Brand or model. Someone e-mailed me that it might be a Canedy Otto Royal 18. I think they were right! Mine has been painted over so many times that the label is covered and I haven't been able to wear through it yet.

Red Leader, I didn't even read the rest of Steven's thread. Hands down the "winner"! I applaud Steven for having the ambition even more than the ability to do what he is doing.

    LMAO.....I give up

I recently encountered the same problem. We have Farm and Fleet stores near me and I went over there (actually the local ACE hardware was my first stop, nothing but China stuff there). Anyway, at F&F I spent about 45 minutes going up and down the tool isles looking for USA made stuff. I only...

I think I have that same cabinet in my garage. It's buried behind my other stuff. Those were used in the kitchen back in the day. MIne belonged to my grandmother and I pulled it from the basement. I never thought of it as anything more than another steel cabinet. Now I think I might pull it out...

I'm just not worthy of a machine like that. Never had the experience of using one either. Very cool tool!

Nice Walker sign. My last name is Walker. The shop is awesome too! I wish they had something like that around here. I can't find a decent building to buy, or at least one that I can afford.

    So here's mine. It's a bit messy

Those are some great ideas you have. I really like the old radio re-hab. I see them all the time and most don't work. You've got me thinking now.

Show Us Your Drill Presses :Mr.T:

From my past experience the older models worked just fine with a belt, unless it was old and stretched. I haven't even used one as old as the ones I have pictured though. The ones I used were old Craftsman drills in an RV shop I used to work in. THey would rip your arm off if you weren't careful.

    Vintage Drill Press

I have this OLD drill press for sale. It was hooked up to 220V just two weeks ago and working. From what I have been told it's a Canedy Otto Royal model. Missing the collet/arbor and has been rewired with a new electrical box and foot control. The motor looks new also and it only has a single...

Why the hate for Craftsman stuff?

Re: Why The hate for Craftsman stuff? Oh, SK tools manufactures sockets in Sycamore, IL. I toured the plant recently. I've never had a bad SK tool and as long as it says USA on it, I'm more likely to buy an SK tool than any other because I work in Sycamore and my job depends on taxes.
