Here is mine. Made of 4x4, 2x4 for the legs and cross bars. Top is made of 5/8 and 3/8 ply with a 1/8" steel top.

Cool fab, but talk about low gear. 6.72:1 in the chunk and 2:1 in the hubs. Sounds like it will be more suited to crawl then spinning tires.

Well I don't see the big garage in the backyard anytime soon. I've built my explorer in the drive back in 07. And I upgraded my 250. So my remodel is in the planning stages. I hope to start next weekend. Check the next post.

Reason for moving the shed is... It makes it a straight shot into the garage shed from the front of the house. I like the idea of footings, wonder if I can do that and not have the township on me about permits. I've checked a couple local shed builders. I'm going to look a little further...

I'm trying to decide on a garage. I currently have a 19x19 attached garage. There is no room for me to put any of the vehicles in it. I have no intentions of staying here for rest of my life. Plus I don't have to 30K to build a good shop out back. There is about 100x100 of space out back...

Re: Has anyone tried to set up on their workbench, a way of "elevating" a tool? Craftsman use to make one. Not sure if they still do.

I have one similar to that. BUT I have a honer to go with it. I'll have to get pictures tomorrow.

My buddy does that for a living over the summers. He said that 2nd vid is the way they do it. Different model machine but same size and set-up.

Re: Planning a new 30 x 32 car shop...what am I missing? I agree. Instead of a gas wall heater. Use a electric hot water heater for floor heat. Might turn out to be cheaper in the long run.

There will be an air piston, hoses and valves to operate the air/hyd one. That accounts for the weight and the price is also for the above. Normally you "pump" the handle to operate. The air/hyd uses the air piston to do that. All you do is pull the trigger.

I am one of those BRAVE firefighters. I retired from the USAF as a firefighter after 20 years and have been a firefighter for over 25 years. NO BUILDING IS WORTH MY LIFE!!!!!! Him telling the first crews what was in the shop kept them alive. Myself as a crewchief I too would not have entered...

I've had ideas of a false front on my shop when it gets started. Would be cool to have a 50's style front and modern stuff inside.

I know it's not alot of space but. I have this. I store my camping gear up there. 3 "L" brackets 3 pieces of 1/2" scraps and 3/8" plywood. I also screwed thru the door tracks into the end of the 1/2" scraps just for another support. The "L" brackets take most if not all the weight.

She does great offroad. Only lifted 6" with 34' LTBs. Just saying thats where the work gets done. The compressor isn't that noise. Works great for me.

Oh the reason no car garage..... Too tall Too tall and too long.
