1966 F100 EcoBoost Engine Swap (EcoBoosted)

I googled “bring a trailer scams“ and found several more stories just like this that convinced the seller to agree to remove or lower the reserve to a number that they were not comfortable with just to end up feeling like they were ripped off. I would definitely never consider bat for a selling...

Clamp setup for Roll In Bandsaw

Nice job on the clamp. I bought my Roll-in band saw new in 1986 and still use it daily in my home shop. Love that saw. It’s even inspired two of my friends to get one

How to clean VERY old duct/duck tape off metal drawer fronts?

I’ve had good luck with kerosene or WD-40. Brush or spray it on, let it soak for a day, and scrape it off. What’s left should clean up with mineral spirits

    SILICON BRONZE TIG WELDING

I’ve had that exact experience when using it on cast iron. It doesn’t seem to be any problem to shape when I’ve used it on mild steel parts such as a bicycle frame where I wanted smooth radiused fillets. I was recently gifted some cast iron repair tig welding rod that I have yet to try to...

Anyone familiar with Carolina Tool HD10 bandsaw?

I have been using this saw daily since 2011 in my machine shop at a university. It was donated in good condition. I went through everything and made a few adjustments, improvements and accessories. I also only use good quality bimetal blades. It’s been a great saw

Local, independently owned old-timey tool stores

New-Way Tool Supply Santa Clara Ca. I found an ink line there after looking all over for one. In case anyone doesn’t know, it’s like a chalk line that uses ink instead of chalk and produces a super clean, sharp line. They had other things that I don’t see anywhere else. Mixed reviews, but my...

Minimum metal thickness for machine screw threads?

You didn’t say what material this will be. If it’s steel, I would use a roll forming tap. This will increase the material thickness slightly around the threaded hole and produce stronger threads than conventional cutting taps. 2 mm (.080”) should be fine for this application. These taps can be...
