Repair garage with posts instead of footers?

Good point! I'm not that fast. The T1-11 is still there, I can also empty out that section of barn while I do the work. I don't have a picture handy, but it's an old drive-thru corn crib and this is one of the corn crib sides.

Repair garage with posts instead of footers?

Thanks for the point! The other side has an actual footing while this side is just on the slab for some reason. It's also the "downhill" side of the building.

Repair garage with posts instead of footers?

Doh! I threw the tin on when I moved in a few years ago, so that the building was insurable. The T-111 and corn cribbing underneath was in bad shape. At the time I figured the tin would last me 5 or so years and if I decided to rebuild, I'd just save this tin for the inside. With current pole...

Repair garage with posts instead of footers?

Hey y'all- I have a 24 foot wide by 10 foot tall wall on my garage that is failing cause there's no footer under the slab. I know the right way is to excavate and pour a footer, but that's a lot of concrete. Can I set 4 posts evenly spaced like you would a pole barn, and have beams across them...

Bar and Chain oil 38 cents/qt @ Meijer

The Meijer in West Lafayette, Indiana had Craftsman branded bar and chain oil on clearance for 38 cents/qt. I'd take a picture but my phone is out of commission at this point. I cleared out that store, but hopefully yours has the same deal.

    Thorogood Boots/work boots

I've been super impressed with Keen work boots- not all of them are made in the USA, but I've found them all very comfortable and durable. The only pair I had a problem with, I sent them a picture and the next day they gave me a credit for a new pair of boots in the online store.

    Tractor Supply 2017 Clearance thread...

Just hit up clearance at my TSC (Blairsville, PA) and found- 3/8 unbranded Air Ratchet 4.49 (Was 14.99) These were in the back in the clearance area, they didn't have any price tags on them either. Brought one up to check price, then went back and got all 4 on the shelf. Packaging looks...

    Norwegian Tool Stores/Brands?

Well, since nobody answered my thread, I'll explore on my own!!! We haven't gone to the store yet, but my host suggested I check out the aptly named "TOOLS" One thing I saw which I thought was interesting was the way they sell nuts and bolts- the containers have lego-like tops and bottoms...

    4x8 polyiso insulation in walls

Used it to convert my cape cod to a hot roof insulation system...I used screws on an angle into my wooden rafters that grabbed a piece of the foam..and then sealed all around the edges with expanding foam. Without the screws, I was worried about the expanding foam pushing it where I didn't want...

Compact excavator rental through Home Depot?

I rented one last year to do the posts for my deck. It was a bit tricky to get around the slope in my yard, but worked like a charm. My only real complaint was it did get hung up a lot on the bits of shale in my yard...but sure beat breaking through all that clay by hand. I forgot how much it...

    DoItBest.com deals 10/21/2015

My local DoItBest will usually match the price and order it for me, or you can always do the ship to store for free if there's one local to you. I bought the cord reel last time it was on sale and was disappointed. The locking mechanism they use on this and their extension cords really *****...

one of the most important tools never posted about

Tried a pair of Keen steel-toes that was on clearance about a year ago at Farm and Fleet. Great boot! Something happened with the sole where the rubber was disintegrating, and after sending them a picture they gave me a coupon for a free pair of boots no problem! I actually got the first pair...
