    The 4 inch diamond saw blade sharpening wheel makes a dandy TIG tungsten sharpener. IIRC, I had to make a bushing for it to work on a cheapass grinding wheel arbor.

    I've known of people who picked up a used patient lift (often called a Hoyer lift) for use with heavy lathe chucks, rotary tables and the like. Most that I've seen seem to be rated for 400lbs or more.

    Another 5 mil Hardy vote. I prefer them over thicker gloves for dexterity. I don't try to reuse them. They cost about 6 cents apiece when I buy them on sale, so not worth the hassle of trying to dry them out or put them back on wet.
