Can a Snap On 936 Series Ratchet be Converted to Dual 80?

Perhaps this has been posted before, but I've not been able to find it. I've got a number of SO F936 3/8" Drive Ratchets and was wondering if they can be converted to Dual 80 with just a replacement Dual 80 kit dropped in? Certainly, it can't be that easy, can it?

Strange Use for a Pliers Wrench

I wasn't aware of the Knipex Pliers Wrench either until a couple of years ago. I decided to spring for a pair, despite that I think they're overpriced...and glad I did. I bought a 7" and a larger pair. I rarely use the larger pair, but often use the 7". In fact, I bought my Best Man a pair...

    British tools

Along with the others, I concur that Koken sockets are excellent! They recently came out with a 1/2" drive set, that I bought instantly upon learning of their existence - they're that good! I have 6pt and 12pt, eight piece 3/8" drive sets - all purchased from vendors on eBay. Unless you know...

    EDC Utility Blade... Finally!

Unable to bring myself to spend $60 - $100 on a utility knife (Exceed Designs or Gil-Tek RUK Ti), I did find it irresistible to not procure a Chinese made stainless steel liner lock utility knife. Enter the MFIROZ (whatever that is...) Utility Knife for a whopping $7.49...

    EDC Utility Blade... Finally!

I saw the alibaba prices rose to the point that it didn’t seem worth the risk. It’s definitely the Cadillac of box cutters, but I don’t see myself daily carrying a 1” blade. My edc knives are 3 to 31/4”.

Dial Indicator and Magnetic Base Recommendation

I did go ahead and purchase a new Noga DG10533 magnetic base with FAB (fine adjustment on bottom). Again, I really appreciate the good information several here provided! I ended up 50% over what I was hoping to spend and purchased a better base and dial indicator than I would have had I "just...

    Safety wire pliers

I purchased a used pair of Milbar pliers that are 8-1/2" total length off of eBay. I like them because they're not so large as most and I'll likely only ever use small gauge SS safety wire.

Dial Indicator and Magnetic Base Recommendation

HaHa! Haste makes waste!:lol_hitti I didn't see your edited comments, lol! Thanks very much for your help with this. I expect it'll be more than adequate for my use. Meanwhile, I thought of another use for this. I have an engine to transmission adapter that really should be checked to...

Dial Indicator and Magnetic Base Recommendation

I got hasty and made an offer of $50 + $7 shipping, which was quickly accepted! It's half an hour away, so paying for shipping is worthwhile.

Dial Indicator and Magnetic Base Recommendation

The advice is very much appreciated! I found this used jeweled Mitutoyo...and it's local to me! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mitutoyo-No-2416-10-Jeweled-Dial-Indicator-Pre-owned/154381299630?hash=item23f1d7afae:g:GPEAAOSwsc5gVkkX Your thoughts, Darkzero?

Dial Indicator and Magnetic Base Recommendation

I'm wondering based on the comments if I should upgrade the dial indicator. The $15 All Industrial dial indicator...it does seem kind of foolish to be spending $85 on a holder and only $15 on the indicator. Still, I was hoping to not spend $200 just to use a handful of times. I'll look at the...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Craig's Colorado Car Condo

Craig, we had similar maple butcher block tables in our junior high and high school shop. One of our student labor jobs in junior high was to refinish the benches. We used hand held belt sanders to remove the old finish and take out some of the imperfections that the students had inflicted...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Craig's Colorado Car Condo

First time visitor to your thread - First off, congratulations on your excellent new shop! I wish you many enjoyable years working/playing in that! Last summer, I purchased a small piece of maple bowling lane. Mine is 33" x 42" that I plan to use to replace a laminated top on a powered...

Dial Indicator and Magnetic Base Recommendation

I definitely agree, especially for wheel bearings. Most just torque the wheel bearing, spin the hub, then back it off to where they feel no play (after cleaning and re-greasing) and are just fine. Thank you for the alternate suggestions!

Dial Indicator and Magnetic Base Recommendation

I need some schooling on this after reading threads here and shopping around. I feel like I'm out of my element, so looking for advice. I would like to try my hand at setting a differential or two, adjusting wheel bearings (vintage Land Rover specs recommend a dial indicator) and taking a few...

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

This is pretty much my thinking as well. Though they claimed to have donated their nitrile gloves, they aren't sterile, so I'm not sure what medical facility would use them. Second, it annoyed customers to have empty shelves in the glove area for the past year. I stopped several times just to...

Where can I buy a brass hammer?

Grace USA offers quality US made brass or brass & Delrin hammers in 4oz - 5lbs. It's probably easiest to find them on eBay. It's not essential to pay Lie Nielson prices...unless that's your preference! :pimpflash Grace USA website: http://www.graceusatools.com/index.php

    Snap-On roadside find

bonneyman, I can't believe nobody has given you a "You ****!" yet? Good eyes, man! Most often, when I see a shiny wrench beside the road, I assume is a Harbor Freight full polish thing not worth risking my life for.
