I like T&G wood, but I'm concerned about condensation on the back side of the roof metal. I've yet to see any condensation, but once it's enclosed would it be a problem?

What kind of prep is required?

I built a bed frame, head and footboard out of 2" square tube. Applied 2 coats of Penetrol(boiled linseed oil) after lightly removing surface rust and cleaning with lacquer thinner. Gave it a nice shine, enhanced color, and has lasted for 10 years so far. Used outdoors I think it requires...

I pour some lacquer thinner over the stain, let it penetrate a couple minutes then cover with clean floor dry. Allow to dry, then remove. For me it's never taken more than one or two applications.

I wouldn't dust coat it, but if a tack coat works and eliminates the problem there you go.

Btw, solvent pop can look like tiny fisheyes but not like the large fisheyes in your first pic. I seriously doubt you applied enough material with the preval to cause solvent pop, especially before the second coat. Shopline clears are intended for low end shops and the limited airflow usually...

I seriously doubt shopline clear is solvent popping over bare metal (I'm a PPG distributor). Which shopline clear is it? There are several and they handle differently. Since you were mistaken about the first coat fisheyes, that changes my guess about air contamination though it doesn't rule...
