I used the wedge anchors as designed, hammered them in and then pulled them up so they "wedged" in place. I also coated the sides of the hole I drilled and the sides of the anchor before I hammered it in.

If I did that I'd run the roof line perpendicular right? If that's the case the existing garage is only 30 ft wide so doesn't that lock me into adding only a 30ft deep section? Or could I go with a higher peak on the addition and get more length that way?

The power that feeds that comes from a pole on the opposite side of the house and goes underground under the existing garage and driveway so my fear is that it would take some time with the power company.
