I guess I'm just lucky, my wife thinks old trucks are cool and is really supportive. If I see an old truck or car she tells me to buy it if I want. The wife and kids all like to help in the garage when they can. It makes me love her even more!:bounce:

I use the handle to hang mine in an old metal 5 gallon bucket. Put a scrap of heavier metal (for weight) and floor dry in the bottom. Not something I spent time thinking about, just kinda worked out that way.

drywall is fine. I work in a weld shop(I'm not a welder but I am in the same building). The things that catch on fire are rags, garbage cans and prints. If you keep flammable objects out of your welding/grinding area you will be fine. cautious is better than careless, but don't be paranoid...

old thread coming up. I used an old solid house door and hinges for a fold-away bench. Use a 2x4 plus thickness of hinge or custom make to fit. This will make it lay flat against the wall (make sure you are in the studs). I used plumbing floor flanges under the table screwed in and for supports...

I think a big part of the car hobby is a significant other that enjoys what you do, even if they don't completly understand it. My wife is awesome, she tells me about cars/trucks that are for sale.

Rustoleum makes a spray that frosts the glass. Lets in plenty of light, you don't forget to close them and people can't see in. Use the Rustoleum brand (green can) though I tried the Lowes brand and it looked like **** no matter how even you sprayed it.

This makes me even happier to live in South Dakota. NYC would be cool to visit, but you can't beat ten acres 48x70 machine shop, horse barn and a four bedroom house for 125,000.

The wife and I are looking into a Miracletruss building for our home and a seperate one for the shop. Look into radiant heating in the slab instead of the hvac, nothing like working on warm concrete.
