    Westward Tool Boxes

Looking for a new or used larger toolbox and stumbled across Westward tool boxes. The specs seems pretty good as the shell is listed as 14ga with 16ga drawers. The total weight of the box seems stout at shipping weight of 701 lbs. At almost $2600 there are other options out there but it puts...

Mag Drill - JMU 137 QW

Fein mag drills are the BEST. We use them all the time in the air drilling beams. While Milwaukee is big and great its also very heavy. The Fein drills are a lighter, compact, and very durable. Replacement parts are easy to get. Personally I would never buy another brand of mag drill.

Hydronic Controls - Boiler with Geothermal backup?

They do use the same hydronic radiators. The system is radiant in floor for the basement and cast iron radiators for the first floor. After looking into the plumbing there is a lot that needs to be corrected and added. Currently there is no temperature regulation between the two different heat...

Hydronic Controls - Boiler with Geothermal backup?

That would work but I was really looking for a single solution that incorporated everything into one tidy package. Right now I'm thinking of trying out the Honeywell TrueZONE 432 panel. It seems to have most of the features that I need and its not a huge loss if it doesn't work...

Hydronic Controls - Boiler with Geothermal backup?

There are two answers to that. 1- We have an unlimited supply of wood and use the cutting of wood for land management. It is a huge amount of time gone and given the choice I would rather not do it. 2- The current geothermal system was installed during the building of the house in the mid...

Hydronic Controls - Boiler with Geothermal backup?

Good point. The goal is to completely automate the system and bring it up a modern state of control and still maintain the primary use of the wood boiler. The 2 geothermal heat pumps have no problem heating the whole system and keeping things comfortable but they are a bit costly to run...

Hydronic Controls - Boiler with Geothermal backup?

We're in the process of redesigning and automating the heating system in our recently acquired house. My "early adopter" father in law built and designed the house in 1996 and has assembled a semi-automatic heating system that we would like to update. In my searches I find many control systems...

    Wilton 744 Vise $112 shipped @ eBay

They have different lines that are made different places. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that many of the Made in USA products are just made in the USA so they can sell to the government at inflated prices and the oversees production is meant for the consumer.

    Mig weld question

You cannot get the cleaning affect of AC TIG on a DC MIG. The cleaning affect comes from the alternating current pulling out the contaminants. http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/aluminum-welding-hobart-ironman.html

Northern Tool Klutch MIG 250s welder thoughts

The input is appreciated and I agree it would be nice to buy a Hobart or HTC its hard to justify spending an addition $650+tax for something that really won't be used very often.

Northern Tool Klutch MIG 250s welder thoughts

Father-in-law has always wanted a decent MIG welder for at the farm and this year the family has decided to gift him one for his birthday. The welder will be at the farm so things are usually 3/16"-1/2" material and the welding needed will be sporadic at best. Now enter the question: Has...

    Rewiring home from 1947

Not necessarily garage related but anyways. My home was built in '47 and true to the era has the rubber and clothe insulated wire run through flexible metal conduit. As home improvements have progressed the horrible state of the wiring has been noticed. I have come to the realization that the...
