I have another thread here about replacing a motor on a compressor.
I have a killer deal on a 10hp Baldor motor to replace my toasted 7.5hp Dayton.
The starter on the compressor has a plate that states is good for 40amps (FLA). The previous 7.5hp motor was 30amp, the new 10hp is 38amp.
Will the existing starter work with the larger motor?
I heard something about a possible heater change in the starter. I think the one in the starter now is marked 80 ???? I'd have to double check to be sure of the marking.
What do I need to do?
