    Heat pump crossover temperature setting

Thank you all for the guidance! I think I'll start at 15 and work my way down. I'm not sure how many days are left this season to really figure out the best number, although the weather seems all over the place so who knows. Larry, that's an interesting thought, i hadn't even thought of that...

    Heat pump crossover temperature setting

Hello, thanks in advance for any help! My girlfriend just upgraded her thermostat and the ecobee assistant had her set the crossover temperature to 35F (this is the temperature where it switches to using pure electric heat). I've never had a heat pump, so neither of us thought anything of this...

Vinyl siding blowing off, seeking advice

Thank you all for the input, I now have some idea of what i'm heading into, and the approaches I'll take. I actually didn't expect it to be difficult to put the pieces back in place, it's been decades since I've done any vinyl siding and that was install, not repair/replace. I'm thinking it...

Vinyl siding blowing off, seeking advice

I was hoping to get some advice from those in the know on here about vinyl siding. It's been cold and especially windy around here, and for the second time pieces of vinyl siding have come loose and have even blown off of my girlfriend's house. I have no trouble putting them back, but I'd...

    HF Ultasonic cleaner

i have one that I use on a regular basis. My complaints are it's sort of small, not very powerful and biggest of all is I have to keep resetting the timer to run long periods, so it needs babysitting. I think it's been worth the price though.

Moving my shop half way across the country... anyone have advice?

My only advice is to rent a dumpster before moving, and put the two cats in there :) I'm serious about the dumpster.

Can you have too many visegrips?

When growing up I was definitely given the impression that vise grips were tools of last resort. I'm not sure why. I broke my wrist this summer, it's back to work, but not as strong. I have one of those small PEX crimpers where you squeeze with pliers, but I didn't have the strength back to...

1/2" Drive - Long Handle Flex Head Ratchets +20"

I only have a 24" breaker bar, but if I were shopping I think since it's so long I'd want the highest tooth count made in USA. That's if money were not a problem. You could also use a ratcheting adapter on a 24" breaker bar, but those seem to be out of favor.

My New Old Walker Floor Jack

It certainly has had a rough life! Nice work on the lathe there, definite improvement. I really like mine, with a tight garage you might think it'd be a pain, however, it's pretty handy, I especially like that I can reach to the middle lift point of my car from the side of the vehicle.
