Thanks to Al Gore answers to all your questions are at your fingertips. In the referenced earlier Garage Journal thread someone recommended and linked to Blastrac. On their site they have this description of shot blasters: They also have a handy zipcode lookup that will return local...

Sweet deal on Snap-On Dale Earnhard Edition toolbox.

Went looking for a screwdriver, and found a great deal on a Snap-On toolbox! Although it's only 5.5" tall, it does come complete with cap nuts, wrenches, and commemorative Dale Earnard number 8's. Sweet!

New floor jack avail at Costco

Costco has an upgrade model of their Arcan aluminum floorjack. The most significant change is a upgraded rating from 2 tons to 3 tons. There's a bit more metal all around with a new cross brace piece on the lift arm. Can't tell if the hydraulics have been beefed up. Also the aluminum is now...

    Good stuff from Griots?

Good point. Although some of their stuff is unique (I think the skeleton creeper is in that camp) other items are rebrands. I don't begrudge a company making a profit, and even though lthough it's not Griot branded, the Porter Cable compressor they sell for $469 is model #C3151 and is...

Check this Product out? Thoughts Comments Needed Please...

If the stuff is based on the same material used for bed liners, I wonder about its longevity. We have a Herculiner lined pick-up bed, and it definitely shows serious fading. Since it doesn't see much use, I can only imagine that it's due to Sun exposure.

Los Angeles guys: Sears at Samta Monica & Western 20% + off tools

The place is totally third world circa 1950. Another local Sears, located in an odd area, is the big Sears east of downtown on Olympic. But unlike the Hollywood Sears, and despite the fact that the buidlding looks abandoned, it's tool center is one of the best I've seen. Large, well stocked...

    Kragen "powerbuilt" tool warranty

The other day I was at a Kragen's parts desk and one of the phones was turned around toward my side of the counter. On it was a piece of paper labeled "Customer Satisfaction" or some such. There were three steps listed, ! was a pleasant greeting, 2 was a step I can't recall, and 3 was to the...

    Nothern Tool Air Blow Gun

I don't have any of those, so I can't speak from experience, but... I'm assuming a rubber tip is desirable because it lessens the chance of scratching anything, would a tip of rubber tube that fits snuggly over the end do the trick?

Nice little comprssor for only $49 - Usually $180.

On these "hot" deals I try to avoid calling first. Often times the employees aren't even aware of the price, but the phone call alerts them and all of a sudden they can't find the items when you get there. But if the store's far away, maybe a call is the best approach. Decisions, decisions...
