didnt mean to sound brass. Simply, when i rolled a HD special epoxy floor 6 years ago, it looked great for a week. pics are hard to see detail, especially on the web.

I would be interested in how easy or difficult it was to applicate though. please let us know.

but seriously, after its done, i'd love to know how it holds up though a season cycle.

good luck.

UPDATE! Well Finished the Rocksolid floor today. I had someone install it with me. DBI SERVICES of Norwalk CT. As far as laying the floor down it is ALL in the prep work. We had 3 guys all day after the prep was done the night before. The product looks fantastic and the directions are fairly easy to follow. I did not feel comfortable doing the job on my own, because the floor is a fiberglass reinforced so we ended up burning the fibers that stood up off. Was this step needed, I am not 100% sure. The reason I say this is because the base, color ,chips and clear coat we applied may of covered this? Is this a one day project, well INMHO no. However the product and support for this product are EXCELLENT! Time will tell on how it will hold up. My garage is heated and cooled and honestly more of a waxer/show car garage. I will have a lift for oil changes when completed. The product does look and install fairly easy if you take your time, or have a Great friend like I do who does concrete work (and has done this before). Well hope you can tell how it came out because I stink at taking pics!

are the pics before or after the top coat? If it is after the topcoat, i hope you removed the paint tape before it fully cured? i would imagine you will have to razor cut the tape off if you left it.

Can you let us know how many sqft your garage is and how many gallons where used per layer and how many layers?

Looks good!!! I want some details on the garage foundation and the exhaust fan. What kind of weatherproof louver is on the outside of the garage to keep weather and varmits out?

Ok, The product we used the following 2 part base 1coat 2 part color 1 coat broadcasted chips over color/vac after. 2 part clear coat 1 coat. The garage is 900sf. I do not need to however for my own piece of mind only. I ordered more clear coat today to ensure I will not have any issues. Perhaps a waste of money with the extra top coats but it certainly will not hurt.

The foundation had a 2' lip around the perimeter that I was not sure what to do with. So after a few boxs of cultured stone and some flagstone it was done. The exhaust fan I picked up at Grainger. I own a 1964 Corvette that stinks like an old car after a long trip. Thats why I went with the exhaust fan. It has a vinyl on the outside with heavy louvers that open when I turn the timer on. I got lucky because I have clapboard on the outside of the house and the louvers are the same size.

I believe that is the single nicest garage I have ever seen. Well finished, but not so over the top that visiting car friends feel inferior because of a ridiculous over-display of money. Very nice.

I like your use of stone around the perimeter of the foundation too. This is an idea I had not considered. I used ICFs for the perimeter of my foundation, and on two sides the perimeter wall extends 16" above the floor, so you have that 16" tall, 5" wide sill on those two sides inside the garage. The stone makes that area look very classy.

I realize that you have just finsihed this, but is there anything you wish you had done differently?

As of now no except the cost of the Owens Corning Cultured stone. Rocks in a box. I used so many boxs it was ridiculous. The problem was all the really small pieces that come in these kits. If I were to do it again I may of had thought about a load of stone dropped. The problem with that would of been the extra labor involved? Tuff call either way I guess.
Thanks for the kind words!!!! Just waiting on the lift at this point (should be soon)..

Sweet 64, kind of reminds me of the one I had 33 years ago...except mine was a coupe and had Red interior. I really like the way your floor turned out as well. Excuse the picture quality it's a scan of a slide that is over 30 years old.

Rocksolid claimed it could be driven on the next day.

Have you driven on it in the next day?

Was it a one day procedure as claimed?

How many gallons where used?

BTW, Bad *** car!!

My wife did prove it could be driven on the next day(could of killed her),but no problems. It can be done if doing a single car garage and if you put in a Very loooong day.I have a three car garage and the Product gets sold in kit form mixing 2 parts every time for a total of 3 steps (hope this makes sense)?
I just ordered enough to cover 900sqft. I am going to add 2 more top coat this Saturday for that ice rink look...Its not needed but I like to overkill on somethings...

Are you required to lightly sand floor to make extra top coasts bond, since the floor has curred?????

sixty4, be careful trying to topcoat it too much. you might find it slippery as hell. You will need some texture so your wife and kids wont go slippin and slidin like an ice rink. I like to add texture to my floors. Sherman williams (I hate to mention names) sells shark grit. Its a very light texture, almost unnoticable but works great. You would need to use it on your final coat. If not, when you do realize its an ice rink, you will need to buy more material, again, just to add the texture. Good luck.

Hi sixty4,

How do you like your Liftmasters? Did you install them yourself? If so, was it difficult? What is the minimum amount of people needed to put up the Liftmasters? Absolutely beautiful garage!

Thanks guys!! This is the cover shot. www.corvetteenthusiast.com. Anyway I love the lift masters! I ended up changing the doors so it made it a no brainer to add these. I had a local company install these. They are so quite and free up valuable center space in the garage. I am waiting on a lift to arrive. I did a search on the web and found a place that sold them. I asked if I was to purchase 3 could he do the battery backups for free. I have the reciepts buried in my files, along with the tons of reciepts for the garage make over. If you need me to I can dig it out.

Finally got the Big Blue Widebody home today. I washed it before I pulled it in. Its been at my storage place since the makeover began. Well I have a lip where the garage meets the asphault (splash some soap and water on the floor). I spun the rears a bit pulling it in. I was thinking Oh Sh*T there goes my new floor. I got out to look and Nothing. Not a scratch. I so stand behind Rocksolids floor system.

Sixty4, Any cost data on the Owens Corning stone? It really looks good. If you don't mind, how much did it cost per sq ft? Did you install it yourself? If so, how easy / time-consuming was it? I'm considering using this on my garage foundation walls, from ground level up to the water table trim. Thanks.
