    Sunex vs Grey Pneumatic

I have both the deep 1/2 drive metric set (10mm-36mm) and the deep 1/2 drive standard (5/16-1-1/2) GP sets. I am a diesel technician and have used both sets for around 10 years. The only socket I have broken is the 36mm and it has had the **** worked out of it. I ended up buying both 3/8 drive...

    New butane soldering iron

My Snap-on dealer said that they were getting new butane torches due to the old ones having so many issues. I was looking to get one the other day but he didn't have one on his truck

Question about choosing a 1/2" impact gun

You are not going to go very far with an attitude like that. There is a lot of good information on this sight, but not if you piss everybody off right off the bat.

    Show us your welding projects

Well I finally broke down and bought a new welder, so of course I had to build a new welding cart for it.

Anyone on here run a service truck????

If i remember right it was a late "A" model and it had around 5000 hrs on it. The left hand track tensioner kept on bleeding off.

Combination Wrenches Bigger than 3/4" -- Where are you getting them?

I have Craftsman up to 1 3/8" and 30mm in metric. Above that i just have harbor freight up to 2 1/2. They have held up just fine and i don't feel near as bad if I have to hammer on the side of the wrench to bust a fitting loose. Plus, what the tool trucks want for bigger wrenches is pretty...

    Best Hand Cleaner

I also agree that the Zep Cherry bomb works really great. We have the Snap-on hand cleaner at work and it seems to work good, but it takes forever in rinsing it off to get that "greasy" feeling to go away.

    !! Gold Ratchets !!

I remember seeing craftsman offering gold plated ratchets probably five or seven years ago. Personally, if i can't use it, then i see no point in buying it.

Craftsman 176 piece socket set thoughts

The laser etching is nice when the sockets are brand new, but they wear off after time. I wished mine were the old style that had the numbers still stamped on the bottom.

    Mid Length Sockets?

I have a set, and do use them from time to time. They are one of those tools that when you need them, it seems like nothing else will really work.

    Ct4410 owners - Take a look

Does this take the same batteries as the 1/2 impact? i asked my Snap-on guy and he claimed they were different. I was about ready to buy one until i heard that it took a different battery.

What project have you inflicted on yourself this labor day weekend?

I ended up working on my pickup all day yesterday. Ripped out the old, stained carpet and installed vinyl. Hopefully the rest of the weekend i can sit back, relax, and drink a few beers.

So I've been looking for a chainsaw

On my bigger saws i like running a skip-tooth chain. They cut really good and there is less sharpening you have to do when they get dull.

Tools needed for diesel, AG, and H.E. Techs

I know i use my 3/4 torque wrench all the time. The shop has one, but it seems like it is being used a lot of the time. I don't really trust the calibation on the shop's either with the way some of the other mechanics handle it.

That wrench is for zeroing out the micrometer. The micrometer should read zero when closed all they way, if not you use the wrench to turn the middle part of the micrometer.

    Snap on platinum?

I guess i can't complain about mine too much. I got mine as a used set off the truck and only payed $300 for them. It is the set that goes from 3/8 up to 1 1/4.

    Snap on platinum?

they come in real handy when you have all sorts of hydraulic valves, cylinders, pumps, and motors crammed into a tight place and you have to get the one line off that is behind all the others. Snap-on angle wrenches are really nice because they have a different angle on both ends then a normal...

    Let's see your toolbox.

Yep, they are grey pneumatic. This is the 1/2 drive set that goes from 10mm up to 36 mm. They have held up very well and that is with them getting used constantly pretty much every day.

    Let's see your toolbox.

Here are some pics of my new box. I never used to like this green, but i had only seen it with the chrome trim. When the Snap-on guy had one decked out with black trim I instantly liked it.
