What's on your walls? Neat storage ideas!

Here are some of my 'creations'. I love the tape measure holder. It works perfectly! The screwdriver rack works okay but I need to make a lower guide hole "shelf".

    Finally stareted to re-organize

No, not bucking the system! :D I had them on their side so they'd protrude out and that worked pretty well. But that's when the top was 24" wide and I had top space to spare. Now that I reduced it to 16" I needed all the space I could muster up. I tried pointing them upward but they went all...

I filed a BBB complaint against Sears today!

An update..... Sears contacted me (from the pressure of the BBB no doubt) and explained that I had been given one of the 'old agreements' in error and that the policy changed as of Dec 13th. I knew full well what the internet said and what their current policies were for layaway when I asked...

    Finally stareted to re-organize

Thanks! There's a couple of things I need to do to that socket rack. The nuts you see on the top are actually supposed to be on the bottom and the top counter-sunk and flush. But they weren't long enough so I need to get different ones. The plastic racks has counter-sunk holes, which is why the...

    Finally stareted to re-organize

Some updated pics. I'm getting aquainted with my tools and learning how to do some very light fab stuff. Here's a couple of tool holders I made this weekend. It's finally starting to take shape!

What makes a bandsaw exclusive to wood or steel use?

For very light duty use (talking thin sheet steel, aluminum, etc.) why couldn't I use a bandsaw, made for wood, on steel if I changed to a proper blade? I'm looking at a Ryobi from Home Depot for $45 used. Thanks

    Finally stareted to re-organize

Thanks! I do plan on putting a bench under the cabinet. I used to have a 2' x 6' MDF top bench that was 36" off the ground but I decided to do a taller (42") 8' x 20" instead. I think it'll work better in my garage since I'm hurting for space. I have some really good ideas for the rest of the...

    Finally stareted to re-organize

Now that we've been in the house for a while I can start working in the garage to make it how I like. I made this rack over the weekend and I think it turned out great. I'm debating if I should make some doors for it. I love peg board!

I filed a BBB complaint against Sears today!

Are you serious? Because of people like me? WTF is that supposed to mean? You judge me based on one incident in my life? All I did was ask them to hold up to their agreement. So holding the agreement THEY provided that says "30 days" in plain written English means nothing? It doesn't say...

I filed a BBB complaint against Sears today!

yeah.... I know but it's least I could do to feel some sort of satisfaction. The nitwits behind the counter could give a rat's ***. If it gets my layaway resinstated with the lesser price, I'll consider it a victory. The thing that ***** is that I already rebuilt the area in the garage for that...

I filed a BBB complaint against Sears today!

Well, I had my fill with my local Sears today. Here's the scoop... I put an 8' stainless steel workbench top on layaway about 2 and half weeks ago. I went in to make a payment today (was actually going to pay it off in full) and noticed it was $25 cheaper. I went to the dipshit at the counter...

What is the Coolest thing in your garage?

I know this is TMI, but that drive in is where I became "a man"! In my later life, I lived directly across from there, where the Burger King is now. We used to watch movies for free from our living room. It was a great time and a great house. Too bad I didn't have the need for a garage...

This may be an odd question....but!

My house and lot are small compared to some. My garage is 11x20 (roughly) and is to the side of the house but back by 10 feet. It basically takes up a large portion of my back yard. If I ever wanted to build in the back I'd be very limited. So, after racking my brain I though of a possible...

    Motorcycle tools

I just made a simple tool sey by getting a Craftsman tool set (on sale for $9.99) that has a 3/8" ratchet and several metric sockets. I changed a lot of my fasteners to allen head so all I really need are numbers 4 and 5 allen wrench sockets, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 14mm sockets, a phillips screw...

    Best way to hang pliers

I'm trying to hang all my everyday tools within easy reach, on the pegboard, or in a custom made holder. But for pliers, I'm not having much luck in the idea department. I've seen the half circle-ish type hangers but they sit in there kind of sloppy. How are you hanging pliers, nips, wire...

    Lifting a cabinet into place

+1  I work alone in my garage all the time. This cabinet (all one piece) was built in the 40's and weighs a lot! I put it up myself by using using a come-a-long, bike straps and I just took my time. Work smarter, not harder. Once you get the idea of what you want to do, you sort of...
