    Garage Door Opener Wall Switch

So, I tried a real nice looking doorbell button and as someone mentioned above...no go. So I called a local garage door co. and asked what I might try. They told me that the Genie button sold by HD & Lowes etc. is pretty much the only thing available. Oh well, it was worth a try I guess...

    Garage Door Opener Wall Switch

Yeah, funny thing, I've always done the same when we have been gone for a week or more. But this time we were gone for 5 days so I did not shut off the water.... In the past we always had a dog/house sitter come to stay when we were gone for vacations but the dog past away last year and the...

    Garage Door Opener Wall Switch

I am looking for a replacement wall switch for my garage door opener (it's a '90s Genie). I would prefer a lighted switch. I checked HD & Lowes they both have the same Genie wall switch that isn't lighted and not much to look at either. I don't need anything fancy but something that looks good...

Had About Enough Smell of Oil This Week

My worst oil smell experience was changing the shock oil in my 68 Triumph TR 250. The PO had apparently never done it. Man, that stuff was nasty, it stunk up my Dad's garage so bad he almost banned me from working on my car in there. Second worst was when I worked for Freightliner. In the...

Toro Vs. Honda walk behind lawnmowers

I've had two Honda mowers. I really liked them both. First one I bought lasted 13 years and probably could have been repaired but I felt it was time for something newer. My current mower is a Honda HRX. I like everything about it but the bag, it has a little blow by and can be kind of messy...

    Sealing "butcher block" top?

Hi all, my new work bench has a maple "butcher block" top. It came unfinished so I'm trying to decide what would be the best finish for it. It's going to see light duty as I have a work table that gets most of the heavy work. I am considering; tung oil or polyurethane. Anything else I should be...

    Finally starting garage project!

Yes, the dog is tethered to a kennel that is on wheels but the kennel is attached to the wall so, no run away dog. There is a "man door" on that side of the garage with a doggie door in it that goes out to a 12'X6' roofed kennel. The small kennel on the inside can be latched in place in front of...

    Beer & Garage

Too many to list but just about anything from Deschutes Brewing, especially Black Butte Porter. Rouge Ales are pretty good. Right now I have a sampler case from Kona brewing...enjoying that too!

    Finally starting garage project!

I had planned to have my garage project completed this week. But now it's going to be next week at the earliest. Without going into details, we had some issues with the floor install. Should be resolved tomorrow (fingers crossed). Then the cabinet installation to follow and moving back in. I'll...

    Epoxy Coat

After much reading here and talking to some local contractors, I've decided to either have it professionally done or not do it at all. The contractors I spoke with are all on the same page as to DIY floors. "Its not a matter of if but when a DIY will fail" they tell me. They went on to say they...

    Epoxy Coat

Has anyone done a DIY with Epoxy Coat on an older floor and not done a diamond grind first? In other words just done the etch that comes with the kit. If so, how has it worked for you?

    Finally starting garage project!

Yeah, I don't want/need anything flashy, just clean and functional will do. I'm trying to get my self psyched up for a DIY epoxy floor...I still have some reservations though.
