What did you do "IN" your garage today?

On Jan. 23rd I posted this image of work we were doing on my 2004 F350 6.0 Powerstroke engine. Later in the project we cleaned, painted, powder coated and re-assembled the engine. Then we shoved it back in the hole. Then bolted on a lot of stuff. Finally ready for startup. We...

Yet another media blasting & compressor question...

I can't answer your questions....but, I blast at the home/hobbyist level. I'm connected to a 60 gal. tank, 5hp, 2-stage. And...it's rated at 15.8 cfm @ 90psi. When I'm blasting continuously, the compressor cycles on at least every 4 minutes.

What torque wrench you guys use???

    I seem to be all over the map regarding types. I have a very small 1/4" drive beam-type for 0-80 in-lb. A 3/8" drive digital for 10-100 ft-lb. A 1/2" drive clicker for 25-150 ft-lb. The newest purchase is a 3/4" drive for 50-365 ft-lb.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

True! In that I'm retired and winter keeps a fella house-bound, this gives me something to do for 5-6 weeks. Cleaning, rust removal, painting and powder coating are fairly time consuming. Still have a lot to do. Just rebuilding 8 fuel injectors will take several days.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I began this project a few weeks ago and am about 1/3 through the rebuild. It's a 6.0 Powerstroke diesel. This is my first time pulling down a diesel. For a 365 cu. in. engine, its darn heavy. Weighs about 1,000 pounds.

Jack stands and floor Jack: Good to keep?

I've owned those same jack stands for about 10 years. The picture on the box appealed to me when I made the purchase. But when I used them 1 or 2 times I felt they weren't stable enough. If I was wrenching on a 15/16" headed bolt and nut, I could slightly rock the car unintentionally. I...

RaceDeck CircleTrac install - small double garage

Overall, I am quite pleased with the outcome. There is a little bit of a “click-clack” as you walk in the garage, but it’s nothing that could be considered over-the-top loud or annoying. And yes, I carefully coordinated my flooring and the new competition orange Homak RS Pro tool box! And the...

    Show your new tool arrivals

And thanks to cweidert03. Thanks! I purchased it from Greg Smith Equipment. Without the handles, it measures 56"w x 22"d x 67"h. When it arrived and I stacked them I thought maybe I'd overbought. But now that I have the majority of tools transferred (still working on that today) it is...

    Blast Cabinet Shield opinions

I have the acrylic window, and use a sheet of Mylar as the protector. I usually blast for 1.5-2 hours before replacing the Mylar. I can probably get 3-4 hours out of a sheet. I found the Mylar seller on Ebay about 2 years ago. Bought a box of 100 sheets. Each is 12" x 18", and is .004"...

    Lock ring pliers needed asap

I don't believe you'll be satisfied with that style. I purchased a very similar product while rebuilding a Ford Toploader transmission. Use of it proved to be frustrating while attempting to install approximately 3 snap rings of your type. I finally bought this and I was able to finish the...
