    Add a shunt trip breaker to your panel and wire the shunt trip to your power feed. When the power comes back on it will trip the generator breaker and then you can turn the main breaker back on. Zero chance of powering the power feed. The best is a transfer switch.

    I just twist and cut even on the ends. A few scratches Will not hurt anything. Been doing it this way since 1965 and never a problem!

    That transfer switch is made to use a 240 / 120 generator. You should not try to hook it up yourself without knowing what you are doing. Save yourself some grief!

    Looks like a good idea. That is what I am going to use when my incandesant 300 watt bulbs burn out! Sane your receipts, most cfl's have a replacement warranty for up to 10 years and most burn out before warranty expires!
