not true I will order a box and just insist on inspection, just wish this was policy and would be happy to pay for it. so much twist gets added to threads and then people add their own sociological perspective it becomes humorous and off topic.

ok don't want to fight with anyone GJ is awesome super helpful and vast knowledge that's why I am here. Maybe I can hire my own shipper, I am not looking for the cheapest. I offered to pay 300.00 to do a full wood crate around the box. I just think you should ... order box...inspect box...

HA HA HA. have you ever been through a damage claim? got an extra 100 hours to spare and 6 months?

Yes because it already did happen before, you are missing the point if a proper inspection was allowed it would avoid concealed damage.

I called fedex and spoke with a supervisor he told me no inspection without first signing, STB say's you must inspect or they won't cover the damage. I said I was not bashing either company if you read the whole thread, just putting the facts out there that this is the policy. I called STB and...

I asked extreme tools that ? they did not have an exact answer. I was thinking that might be an option, I am super busy at work now so any kind of shipping issue would be a pain. Maybe make a mini vacation and a business write off as well, also get to see the box without any pressure at all...

Like I said before home depot sells the extreme 5621cr but it's 355.00 more that is 17.8% increase in price, Let's face it home depot employees are not the most careful when it comes to moving stuff. Why can't we just inspect what we are paying for? and if we can't why are we then responsible...

manwithtools well said thank you. Profile updated. Maybe the driver is super nice I agree maybe I should not have called fedex powers that be because they were useless and paint a grim picture, so that did not help at all. If you read the whole post I have cause for concern. The policy should...

    damaged extreme toolbox

I like to take a proactive approach to things. If it can happen it will happen and this is through life experiences. If the toolbox company insist on an inspection you should be allowed to inspect, not have to have a showdown with the driver for what is just and right.

    damaged extreme toolbox

My point exactly!!!!!!! There is a lot of pressure at fedex and all shippers to move product. A good friend worked at UPS for 12 years he said you could never work fast enough for them, always wanting more work from you. How long to do think it will take to carefully open and inspect a...

redwrench60 you are so right. I am not the kind of guy that you are going to stop from doing the right thing no matter what your stupid policy is. I will inspect that box before singing that's a given, but I want to avoid conflict because that is also stressful and it will take the fun out of...

    damaged extreme toolbox

OK I get it! I will order the box and stop the stress. The point was the absurdity of the shipper not allowing you to see the actual item you are signing for don't you get that? How many times did you make a purchase and only after putting it to use for a bit do you discover some flaw that...

    damaged extreme toolbox

yes I am freaked out because I just went through this last year. did you read the whole thread? it was a pain in the **** and took lots of time so I am having day ja voo. I think pelicanpines has it right, if the driver balks at my inspection just walk and let them keep the box. I called the...

    damaged extreme toolbox

Yes I know home depot sells them but then it's around 350.00 more. I am thinking about having it shipped to the house offer the driver a cash tip to let me inspect it or just send it back and stop payment on cc. This is not how I want to do this, waiting till it is at my door only to send it...

    damaged extreme toolbox

Mhyde52 it is money out of my pocket. If i sign for the box it is mine. If I get home and discover it has hidden damage STB wont cover it, if I have to send it back it is at my cost and I have to fight with the shipper. Have you ever gone against a shipper when you signed for acceptance? it's...

    damaged extreme toolbox

The link strouty posted shows a wood crate and the red box they show also has no name badge on it! STB does not ship extreme tool boxes they are drop shipped from extreme and no wood crate is used in the shipping it's only cardboard(smoke and mirrors). Everything looks good until you are left...

    damaged extreme toolbox

My original plan was to have it shipped to the terminal then I could pick it up based on my schedule and also this would give me more time to inspect without holding up a truck driver. I also offered to pay more for extra packing and time for inspection. I have had shipping damages happen in...
