ratcheting wrenches vs pass through sockets

I have a gear wrench pass thru set. Biggest problem I have with the pass through is the socket falling or getting knocked off in tight spaces, so for me I like the ratcheting wrenches better in spots where a dropped socket isn't worth the time. Maybe there's a better pass thru set that the...

    Gedore metric wrench set Turkey?

Found what I thought was a good deal on a set of gedore wrenches. When I emailed seller asking about what they were stamped it's Turkey. From what I've read german gedores are quality where as India ones stink. So I pose the question, where do the turkey made gedores fall in the spectrum???

    Junkyard Box

I totally understand where your coming from. No reason to tempt someone. Or all it takes is someone that attended an open house eating at a diner later that day having a conversation and a scumbag overhearing.. "that open house today on Park Ave was so great, and can you believe all the tools...

The top supplementary/specialty/oddball tools every GJer should own

I have the smallest offset ridgid pipe wrench. Bought one of these in the advise of my father in law who said it has saved him numerous times. Glad that I did! Keep it in my road box. Have used it for some off the wall situations like removing stripped out drain plugs that vise grips didn't...

My edc besides victorinox Swiss army is the kershaw cryo. The kershaw cryo can be found for less than $25 so don't feel bad about beating it up. It's a rick hinderer design.

I want some 1/2 sockets suggestions (or do I even need them?)

Beat me to it. Couldn't have said it better myself. Working in rusted suspension nuts and bolts some times 3/8" just doesn't do as well as 1/2"

air compressor unable to remove lug nuts?

Hey, I have the same compressor. Removes lug nuts no probs on cars or trucks unless I am doing more than one tire at a time then I might have to wait for the compressor to catch up. Impact gun I am using is the ir2135 timax . I have had the compressor for about 6 years no probs. I even picked it...

What is a good heat gun to get?

I would also say the master appliance heat gun. We had this one at work doing gm recalls. Shared between 8 techs turned off and on about 20-25 times a day for roughly a year. Don't see as many of those recalls anymore but the the sure held up and still works great. Thinks it was a bit over $100.

Garage Journal Advise Givers: How'd I do/What's Next

Not sure how light you were wanting to go but in my Mobile kit I keep a smaller offset ridged pipe wrench. Got me out of many jams on the road when a nut or bolt was so boogered up even a pair of vise grips wouldn't hold tight. I second adding an adjustable wrench medium sized and also to lose...
