I did this rather quickly but would like to refine the design. The inside on the bung is also threaded 1/2" npt and it may be possible to line the bucket with a trash bag and use a drilled hex plug to secure it. You could lift the bag at the end to push all the paint into the pick-up and...

I have sprayed at least 25 gallons of paint with it. Proper clean up and storage techniques are a must. My pants and shirt on the other hand took a small hit or over spray. The bottom feed bucket was an idea created by the 2 quarts of paint that can't be picked up by the suction tube.

The white turned out great! My bottom feed bucket worked great too!! Albeit slightly difficult to clean.

Yes thankfully we are still married. Big projects are very trying on any relationship. It's not the actual work or cost that causes the stress. We find our rhythm or groove and coalesce into a machine. It's the setbacks and delays... When it rains for a week or BFS has to remake the roof...

Progress is being made. I did get the walls painted. Once it was white I decided I must paint the red oxide on the end walls white. Two separate parties suggested I refinish the floor. It felt like a conspiracy, but honestly, I’ve always disliked the coating applied when I built the shop...

Thanks rmack898 I went with the white as suggested. The foam is now covered. Now I'll be painting all the wall columns and girts white.

Post 4: Fighting the Florida Heat & Building a Clean Room If you've ever worked inside a bare metal building in the dead of a Florida summer, you know it's a literal oven. The metal frequently hits 150°F+ on an average afternoon. Years ago, I could only afford to insulate the roof. I had saved...

Post 3: Changing the Vision & The Junkyard Calculus With permission to spend money, I went straight to the shop and began unpacking the bed of the C10. It was a literal time capsule. Most of the parts I’d hoarded since 1999 were still sitting back there. Some hadn't aged well, and honestly, the...

I forgot to mention the nickname given to me by the building inspector... Overkill Kenny. He took a lot of pictures during our build. I finally had to ask him why. He said he was using them to show professional builders how it should be done.

On April 2022—ironically my wife’s birthday—we got our final CO. We built the entire house out of pocket with zero construction loans. To finalize the property, we installed 950 linear feet of Dura-Fence (all-metal privacy fencing) anchored onto a massive, custom-poured 1'x1' concrete curb...

Post 2: Building the Homestead (With Zero Loans) Even though the truck was undercover, it had to wait. We faced some major family drama with the original property loan, so my wife and I quadrupled down on our payments and completely paid off the property by November 2014. The shop finally got...

Welcome to Florida Weather We hurried to form up the slab, but right before the pour, the Florida skies completely opened up. That relentless rain washed our site into oblivion—shifting our forms and burying the rebar deep in the mud. If you've never had to dig 40-foot lengths of rebar out of...

Instead of overwhelming you with a massive data dump, I thought we’d take a more interactive approach to make things interesting. Introduction, Loss, and the 20-Year Detour Hey everyone, I’m finally sitting down to start a proper build thread for my shop and the squarebody C10. This truck and...

    interior color, help needed

I recently had my way to hot whenever the sun is up metal building covered with closed cell foam. I plan on installing white liner panels to the girt marked in yellow. Any recommendations on a color for the foam that will be between the liner panels and the roof insulation? This was an in...
