Keep in mind that swamp coolers are only effective with dry air so they don't work well in enclosed spaces unless they pull air from outside.

Open the doors and turn on the fans to circulate the hot air out of the building, and use the swamp cooler for localized cooling (pointed at you to make you feel cooler).

According to the specs, the 6.5" cordless Makita saw will cut just deep enough at a 45 degree angle to clear standard 2x lumber. I suspect the 6.5" DeWalt cordless saw would do the same.

For surface mount I like 4 square deep boxes with quad covers. Gives you plenty of room for the wiring and allows you to put two duplex receptacles on two different circuits if you want.

I just cap the hot and the neutral together so it will trip a breaker if ever connected at the other end.

There is nothing wrong with Goodman - they only have a bad reputation because they will sell to anyone so they are the trunk slammer's brand of choice. As other's have said, a properly installed Goodman will outperform and outlast an improperly installed top-of-the-line unit.

My question is can a 1/2" anvil handle the torque required by such large fasteners and not break with repeated use?

What do you mean when you say one bay will be used for storage? Are you talking about open storage or piling up a bunch of boxes? Radiant heat is useless if it's covered up with stuff.
