    Pioneer Garage install in Houston.

Well I've been running the unit for a week and still loving it. Typically during the day when I'm not there and at night I have it set at 82 degrees and it's basicallly just running as a fan. Checking outdoor unit and the fan is hardly ever running. Keeps the humidity down in the mid 40's.

    Pioneer Garage install in Houston.

Yup. I have basically set mine for 85 degree's. My indoor temp gauge tells me the garage is rolling at 84 degree's and 40% humidity. Your right it actually feels colder then 85 degrees because it destroys humidity.

    Pioneer Garage install in Houston.

Well I got everything buttoned up yesterday and gave my new Pioneer a test run. Verdict--Unbelievable!! I live in Houston Texas and was installing the minisplit in my 2.5 car garage. 2 walls are shared with the house, a third is exterior, the door is 1 large(facing NE) and has insulated panels...

Bag of putty with pioneer install?

I didn't think it was flare seal stuff. I just didn't get any of the seal stuff in my kit so it had me wondering.

Bag of putty with pioneer install?

So while unboxing my mini split I noticed a plastic bag filled with what almost looks like wood putty. Is it the flare seal stuff.

    Fuse size question

So I just got my 24000btu pioneer 220 volt system. I see it says min wire amps is 15 and max breaker size is 25 amps. So min wire size is a #14 but obviously if I put a 25 amp breaker on that the wire would go up. I already have a 20 amp 220v circuit I ran years ago for woodworking. Yes it’s 20...

MRcool DIY 18k or 24k to offset opening door

Tom it's funny you say to go 24k. I actually had read your story on your issues and swapped to a 24k. Chris. I don't run the AC when I'm spraying. I'll drop the garage door cool the space. Cut the ac while I spray and then if needed evac. Most times i'm just airbrushing so overspray isn't an...

MRcool DIY 18k or 24k to offset opening door

Ya it was a shortsided mistake to use the portable on my part. I'm thinking the 18k unit will work fine for my needs. I'm also thinking maybe the lower seer model 17seer instead of the 21 seer to offset some cost. The savings dont really outweigh the cost

MRcool DIY 18k or 24k to offset opening door

Thanks for all the responses. So last night I took some measurements and used the online hvaccalc manual J calculator and it's saying probably 18000 will work. My concern has been that my 14000 portable just doesn't keep up especially if i crack the door quick to evacuate overspray. I put a...

MRcool DIY 18k or 24k to offset opening door

Boom and just like that I notice on the pioneer site that they do indeed offer a wifi connection kit. I also was pricing the pioner 24k 20seer against the mrcool 24k 16seer. Me thinking the pioneer might be moo betta.

MRcool DIY 18k or 24k to offset opening door

Thanks Bud Ya i know I'm opening myself up but I realize too it's gunne be 18k or 24k unit. I have to account for the additional half bay as well. Plus the fact that i crack the garage door often after I've thrown down some clear or used a bigger spraygun for basecoat. The reason i was...

MRcool DIY 18k or 24k to offset opening door

So i run a small airbrush business out of my 2 car garage. I'm in Houston and so when the heat turns on it really turns on. I had previously bought a portable 14000 btu AC but it just isn't cutting the mustard. Typically it'll drop the temp from 92-95 down to mid to upper 80's and take a while...

So my leaf blower needs a little adjustment but I noticed that the high and low end adjustment screws are recessed into the carb and have no slots for a screwdriver. from the best I can tell it looks like I need a really really really small socket with a flat at one area.
