Wierd screwdriver type used on echo leaf blower carb. HELP!!!

So my leaf blower needs a little adjustment but I noticed that the high and low end adjustment screws are recessed into the carb and have no slots for a screwdriver. from the best I can tell it looks like I need a really really really small socket with a flat at one area. Anyone have experience with the type of driver needed on these little buggas!?!?

This is a carb. adjustment tool-don't know if it will fit your application tho! You might want to contact your mfgr. to find the correct size. Cranky

Well From day one the leaf blower has been boggy on it's way from idle up to full throttle. even after warming up the engine just bogs down upon giving steady throttle to it. If I keep the throttle pressed eventually the motor will die.

You can't buy them off the shelf. They want you to be a small engine tech to buy one. That said, there are a lot of online sellers that will sell them. There are 2 different types and it sounds like you have the "D" shaped end. The other end available is a spline. Look on Ebay for them or maybe your local friendly small engine repair shop.

I think some of those things have special tools that are only supposed to be available to dealers. The tool may allow removing a cap and then reinstalling it into a different index position. EPA ****. There is a Chainsaw Forum/arboristsite where people sometimes discuss things llike that. A fancier Motor Co. like Stihl or Echo is more likely to support the dealers. There are things that the dealers are supposed be able to do.
Those motors hate ethanol. Many of them get messed up with old gas gone gummy or messing up the diaphragms in the carburetors. There may be rebuild kits for the carburetors. They may come from the factory adjusted to the lean edge and adding more than 10% ethanol might be pushing them off the cliff. Check
http://www.arboristsite.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9 there is a section that is mostly chainsaws but there might be something about blowers there and some of the carbs are something alike I don't think making the carbs hard to adjust would be so bad without the ethanol problems added.

There are several types of unslotted adjustment screws used. There's the splined, D-Shaped (one flat side), & Double-D (two flat sides). These can sometimes be found on ebay or at one of the ebay stores. You might try Randy's Small Engine repair store on ebay. If you can't find anything you might be able to force a piece of small plastic fuel line over the screw and adjust it that way. I might add that sometimes they aren't adjustable at all, and are only press-fitted plugs.

Yes, the manufacturers do not want you to able to adjust your own carburetor. Figure out which screws you have (Spline, D, Double D or Pac-Man) and buy the tool from Ebay. I can get you one of these tools, but it will probably be cheaper and easier for you to just get one on Ebay.

I had same issues with a Echo from Home Cheapo so I took it back then went to ranch store and bought Husqvarna and never had problems sence! Made in Sweeden
