What the heck is this thing?

I followed the wire as far as i could, it goes in the direction of the alarm, and doorbell, so its probably a transformer for one of them Am just going to leave it alone, as it is screwed into the receptacle, and I am old and don't want to get on a 8 ft ladder to unscrew it. Thanks for your...

What the heck is this thing?

No low voltage stuff, I do have an alarm, but the control box for it is inside the house. maybe I will unplug it and see what happens. The single wire coming out is odd

Vintage Blue Point, Blue Points Chicago and Blue-Point tools thread

Its 1929. Usually a factory special would have a different (or added) model number like S9514. But if it were owner mod, why would both ends be changed. so, this is one you may never figure out. not in any cats I looked at, but maybe someone else can find it.

Snap on round head GS872. Date code looks like 98. 1/2 drive. I refurbished this one, put a new finish on it. the guts are easy to take out but are a bear to get back in, as all the planets have to be in align. Many of the 872's are hard to find, but fun to collect and use.

In the kit I have, there are three other S/O and Blue Point tools that have date codes, 1941 and 1942. So, its possible that a 8022 would have other years than 45
