    Water bearing up

Grind and then also prime is typically the way to do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Epoxy oil stop primer, heavy sand broadcast, recoat time?

Sand broadcast doesn’t hide defects. Even at thicker applications, let alone a thin 5 mil coating. You also can’t pool that coating thicker in low spots, since it’s not 100% solids or close to that. Patch the areas first then do a sand broadcast if that’s what you are looking to do. Sent from...

    Water bearing up

Not using the oil stop primer isn’t going to be your issue. Not grinding will be your issue. Dousing your floor with water so many times may cause it’s own problems too. Unfortunately, it sounds like right now there is a low probability for success. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Epoxy Garage Floor- not sure the floor needs to be prepped or not

If I was a gambling man I’d give your odds of a long lasting coating 25%. I usually see two of these failures per week. It’ll come up under the tires. Water test is ****. Epoxy doesn’t absorb like water. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Filling Expansion and Contraction Joints before Epoxy Coat

Just trying it help. It may last for 6 months but it's going to start peeling somewhere and after a year or two it will bother you so much you'll be looking at re-doing. I see this all the time, over and over and over. No one that is a professional would ever use rustoleum professional series...

Filling Expansion and Contraction Joints before Epoxy Coat

Just epoxy right up to the board. If you are acid etching and using rustoleum you will be re doing the floor in a year or two anyway so don’t put in a whole lot of effort. I have yet to see one of these floors not have issues while I’ve seen dozens if not hundreds fail. Sent from my iPhone...

Outdoor Flake System from Legacy Industrial

Can this be used inside garages? Or should it be rather. Might be a nice top coat option when doing a full flake. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hairline cracks.....

Looks like they will be hidden by the next coat. However without expansion joints they may come back in places. I wouldn't get too concerned though even if they do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New epoxy floor: can't get rid of fumes!!! Help!

Norklad is a great vendor of products. Everything I order on-line always shows up at my door 2 days later. They have a great selection and ship out quick. It's the most convenient place to get epoxy hands down.

Beautiful? The ones I see are scratched up and stained in many places. Like where anything was spilled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sounds like you aren't dealing with the cream of the crop here.

New epoxy floor: can't get rid of fumes!!! Help!

Well, that seems like a really bad solution. Did they tell you which product they used for each application(either time)? They shouldn't hesitate to provide you the specifics.

New epoxy floor: can't get rid of fumes!!! Help!

If you want to figure out if it's the floor, make sure the place is aired out and leave the door open, take a thin plastic tarp from home depot and tape all edges to the floor. After awhile, lift one corner up and stick you head in. Pretty easy. Do the same with anything else you think might be...

Price To Hire Contractor To Epoxy 3-Car Garage?

Well, I was actually trying to agree with you. Based on what he did, the price point was reasonable, but not better than most of the other prices mentioned here. Will the coating be fine and meet your needs and tastes...perhaps. Would it meet everyone's and be as durable as certain other garage...

Price To Hire Contractor To Epoxy 3-Car Garage?

Well sounds like he was in that floor for $.75 a foot or less based on your description. Plus he skipped a step so that could be done in a day. As an installer I'd take that job any day!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Polyaspartic Vs Swisstraxs feedback in cold climates

Go with epoxy if you want the best floor. For the same dollars the floor will be much stronger. You can top coat it with a poly but I think it's not wise to use it for other layers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Price To Hire Contractor To Epoxy 3-Car Garage?

I do floors and I've started offering a "lifetime warranty" against failure due to peeling from the substrate. It doesn't cover moisture or alkalinity issues, like none of them do. However I'll tell customers that I think it's a gimmick and doesn't mean a whole lot. I shot blast the floors and...
