Thanks. This part of the job isn't a huge area, only around 130 square feet. Though I have access to polyaspartic I haven't used it and I didn't know it could be used outdoors. I'll check out what y'all have.

That's why full flakes are the way to go. If I did a partial flake job I'd put a disclaimer on it.

It's fine if it's not a working garage. Take a look at the cleaning aisle in about any store with polished concrete or the pickle aisle of a grocery store. You'll likely see a huge ugly stain. It doesn't hold up well to spills.

Well, it depends on the type of floor, but generally with epoxy at 50 degrees it won't cure and any time it gets a little warmer it will start to cure and smell. Totally depends if they used all epoxy, polyurethane, etc. Crank it up to 80 degrees and any smell should be gone in two or three...

I haven't seen such a product before, but coming from rocksolid I'd be skeptical. Most of their coatings end up peeling up and their guidelines are ****. Just look at there terrible reviews on so much of their stuff at home depot. I wouldn't trust a word out of their mouths.

WB is def a primer. I use their coatings occasionally. It can be used as a basecoat, but they will even tell you its fairly weak at that, though easier to apply for a DIY person. I think the devoe 167 is a solvent product, never used it. Haven't used any of the devoe line.

One that is epoxy based and somewhere in the nature of around 50% solids. Most of them will meet those criteria. It's thinner so it really penetrates the concrete and levels out well.

2.5 gallons will not cover 450 square feet. If it were the right product that would be enough for a primer coat. I would not suggest you would have success with that product over your type of surface, or most any surface for that matter. Seen failures of that product so many times it's not...

You wouldn't grind then etch. All I could see is that screwing something up. You can reuse buckets if you clean them out (not worth the time to me). Why would you adjust the ratio or be inclined to? Also are you talking about using part a from one vendor and b from another. Why would anyone do...

You'll prob be alright. I've had my hot tub leak all over my epoxy floor twice and it didn't matter. Also I've left a sample board of epoxy on my outdoor porch all winter. Doesn't seem to have done anything.

The floor doesn't look that bad. What sort of epoxy are you putting over top? Flakes? You could have the guy shotblast, moisture vapor barrier primer, patch cracks with thickened 100% solids epoxy, do a full flake coverage w/ epoxy and top coat. Not sure why the guy is shotblasting and grinding...

If it were an epoxy topcoat you could scuff it up, solvent wipe, and lay more clear epoxy. However generally it's tougher to scuff up polyurethane and get the next layer to adhere. I wouldn't do it for a customer but I bet you could have some success with it. Also you could try putting several...

^^those look like peeling because the surface wasn't prepped. I know you are just making a point, but I'd like to see pictures from a floor that was properly prepped and actually failed from moisture issues. Great photos though.
