It's amazing everything fits as well as it does in the orange/white truck.....almost as if an engineer from the 60's whispered in today's engineers ears 'do it like this'. From the engine mounting to the turbochargers clearance....wow.

I'd install a long enough cable to eliminate the extension. Make it long enough to reach the plug receptacle with a few feet left over. The furthest away you said you go is what, 25 feet? I'd make it 30 feet and call it good. Keep the extension for those rare jobs where the 30 footer won't...

I wanted to do it very quietly as I live in an hoa neighborhood, plus, I had the time . My arm and shoulder are fine. I made a bracket to hang transmissions from, hence the .120" wall 1.5x1.5" steel. I cut 4 V notches and bent it around into a U shape and welded a piece of 2" black steel pipe...

Thanks guys. I purchased some 18 tpi Dewalt blades that did the trick. It was the only blades available at Home Depot, otherwise, I'd have gone with some other brand. Any new blade outshines old dull blades.

Looking at the blades, description of some says fine finish cut or medium cut. I think I need the medium cut but what's the fine finish cut used for?

I was cutting some mild steel today, and found my blade was dull. Started looking for blades and saw there's dozens of options. Cheap to mucho $$. Is it the more $$ a blade costs, the longer life and better cut it has? What brand/blade works best for cutting .120 wall 1.5 x 1.5 mild steel tube?

Great job on the RR Ranger, Randy. Enjoy both the bike and the truck for a long time. Your skills, determination and attention to detail are second to very few, in my book.

I'm sure....unless the thread checker thing at the hardware store lied. Too big for 3/8", but threaded into 10mmx1.0 perfectly. Gonna weld a couple nuts to the floorboard and call it done.

I may end up doing just that.... cost added to the box value...why couldn't they just use commonly available sizes is beyond me...never a quick fix. Damnitall...they just gotta be difficult.

What is it with you and red trucks? Are they attracted to you er sumpin? it seems every truck you bring home turns out to be red, except for the rainbow ranger....sheesh.

That size is what came with the box. Worst case scenario is trying find the length of rod that's threaded in the more common sizes, like 3/8-16 or 10x1.25. The rod is threaded on the very ends and goes through the floorboard, through the box and is the battery hold down.
