Auto mechs, how often do you use deep sockets? Would you miss them?

Use mine almost every day, and I'm retired! You have any equipment at all for outside, it's GOING to break. Just finished putting new bearings in a deck just an hour ago.

    Astro Pneumatic Tool Company

Didn't realize you were here until just recently. Pretty sure jack is Japan. The jack and the porto are both probably from early to late 80's now that I think of it.

    Astro Pneumatic Tool Company

Since we now have someone FROM Astro here with the straight story, I'm just curious if you have access to seals for Astro 4 ton porto power stuff from maybe the 90's. I contacted the company but got luke warm to HUH? type answers. I have an older Astro 4 ton that the seals blew in the primary...

    hacksaws?

Little mini saw that I use a lot. WAS my dads, now mine, and I'M 71. Couldn't find blades the right size. Everything I found was too long by about a quarter inch so I mig welded in a section to use standard blades.

    Speed wrenches…anyone use them?

I use my SPEED HANDLES a LOT more than I would ever use those wrenches. I alwas thought they were broke! I use my speed handles to run the bolts in on oil pans so they don't get away from me. Also use my 1/4" handle to get the side bolts out of the John Deer side covers. It's easier than...

Is there a tools to remove this nut?

Personally, I'd just use a pipe wrench and sad out the scratches. You're going to refinish it anyway. Antenna escutcheon socket from the 80's is really close though.

    Calipers!! Digital or Dial?

Got all three also. Use them all in different situations. I usually end up using two of them to verify that one or the other hasn't taken a dump.

How are the pros cutting EMT? Scoring tool?

I LIKE to use cutoff wheels if I have one handy, and I usually do! fast, easy, and don't leave that ridge like tubing cutters. If the cutoff wheel isn't available, just a hack saw. Usually use a rat tailed file when I can't see the reamer.

What's the best tool you've ever bought?

My best is my CP/SKIL model 723(CP) or 1120/1123(SKIL) impact guns. They are 3/8" drive and you can get them into places no other impact can go. My collection NOW counts to 10 so I'm done.

    Battery Interchange

I don't know if anybody has every brought this up but is there any interchangeability between any brands of lithium batteries for tools? I was just curious as the dewalts are just SO stinking expensive. Never saw any chart to show such but thought I'd ask. Mike.

    Amazon Warehouse Deals

Love the torx construction fasteners with the outside coatings. MUCH better that phillips for outside stuff. Like stated above, get the right tip. A lot of times, the containers have the correct bit in the box WITH them. You end up with several when you do much.
