Another Post Frame using piers > bracket > column question with finished slab

They would be within the confines, I would think once they get wet, they would retain the moisture. The only way for the moisture to escape would be through the gap between post and concrete. I believe I would also "somewhat" loose the ability to replace a column in the future if needed. I...

Another Post Frame using piers > bracket > column question with finished slab

I am erecting a 40x64x14 post frame building and don't want any wood in the ground. I'll be pouring 18"x52" piers as my footings, and using perma column wet set and anchor brackets around door openings. I will also be pouring a 5" slab on the interior of the building. The interior walls will...

Garage heater needed - seeking advice

Thank you, this is what I needed to hear. Even though I like the radiant heat over forced air, I'm gonna cross these off the list for the garage. I hadn't considered these, I'l take a look at them. I'm planning on blowing the ceiling once I get it installed. Didn't want to blow it until I have...

Garage heater needed - seeking advice

I've got an attached 24x24 garage with 10'6 ceilings. The walls are rocked and insulated, the ceiling is rocked, no insulation yet (will be in the near future). I'm looking to heat it and not sure which way to go, radiant tube or the traditional modine heaters. Will be using NG for fuel source...

Looking for advice on running water line to out building and installing yard hydrant at the same time in MN

I didn't look at the depth, was kinda thinking 6 ft would be enough, but I see 80" is recommended, I'll be going at least 80. That's a deep trench to dig.

Looking for advice on running water line to out building and installing yard hydrant at the same time in MN

No, running it from the well would be easier. Well is in front of house, and building is on south side. Well is where the gray marker is. Pressure tank is in the house, and a pretty small tank. all the pluming is between front steps and garage in basement. same here. If I run it through the...

Looking for advice on running water line to out building and installing yard hydrant at the same time in MN

Hello, we have a out building that is all finished and heated during winter months. I want to run a water line to the building and to a yard hydrant. The outbuilding is completely finished inside and out, with insulation and walls and concrete floors. The yard hydrant I plan on installing...

    Milwaukee Power Tools Deal Permathread

Anyone know of a deal on some M18 batteries? I'm looking at something like this... https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-High-Output-6-0-Ah-and-3-0-Ah-Battery-4-Pack-48-11-1865S-48-11-1865S/312174410 I'd also go for larger batteries if there's deal on them.

Cat6 and RG6 to Detached Pole Barn - Need help

I had this same issue a few months back, and I went with the NanoStation 5AC Loco, they were cheap enough to try out (less than $100 for the pair), and they were small, not much bigger than a deck of cards. Setup was a breeze and they work great! We do a lot of media sharing throughout the...

Heater placement in 30x50 pole barn

My initial plan was to purchase 2 75k unit heaters and place them in the center on one of the 50' walls, installed at a 45 angle, pointing at the opposite wall corners. However, being the horizontal vent kits are ~300 each, I'm considering just 1 heater, but not sure which direction to face the...

Just bought a house, what is this wire in backyard?

If it's single wire (only 1 strand) then it's likely dog fence, if there are 2 wires, it's probably low voltage lighting. To me it looks like dog fence that's been spliced multiple times.
