    Lighting Choice; LED High Bay

Use the free Sylvania light program. Find a rectangular fixture similar to your and put them in the room. You can rotate them each way and see which shadows or overlap is better or if you need more fixtures.

    Building my 40x60x16 shop + lean-to

Thank you. I had the shell built. The builder brought out several samples and found a close one. It is a fake stone. I can also ask him what stone it is. I have some left but there isn’t a brand or label on the back.

Finally got all the lights and the pendant bases installed. With (15) 110w fixtures installed, the light meter read ~107 fc at the floor with all lights on (I did 3 rows of 5 and each row is on a switch). I think the meter is a little sensitive. Our original lighting design from the Sylvania...

Pendant Mount for the James 110w LED High Bay

I used 15 110w lights for my 40x60 shop with a 16’ ceiling. Was shooting for 85 foot candles at the floor. Well the meter might be a bit sensitive but it’s nice at 107-108 as what the meter shows!

    Building my 40x60x16 shop + lean-to

After weeks of working with drywall mud and sanding, my wife and I were finally able to prime and paint the shop. After two full days of priming and painting, we pulled the plastic. We still have some cleanup to do, but I had to paint some trim and get a few pieces on the wall. I'm waiting on...

Pendant Mount for the James 110w LED High Bay

You are correct, but in my opinion the pendant mount has holes and is a cleaner installation.

Pendant Mount for the James 110w LED High Bay

I ordered some 110w LED HighBay lights from Green Light Depot. When they were out of stock, I ordered a couple more from a vendor on Amazon. The lights from Amazon came with a pendant mount that works great. Green Light Depot doesn't offer this mount. The amazon vendor is out of stock...

    Building my 40x60x16 shop + lean-to

Thanks everyone! Ask away I don't mind. Here is the layout of the lower rooms. The lower rooms are 8' tall (without drywall and the upper are 7'-3" tall with the drywall. (hard to read, click on it and it gets bigger). The front bathroom wall is moved in to allow for clearance for the walk...

    Building my 40x60x16 shop + lean-to

It was time to start building the loft. From front to back on the bottom will be a restroom, stairs, man cave, engine(clean) room. On top will be a storage room over the bathroom and a wood/craft room over the engine room. Its time to start putting the drywall on the ceiling. I put the...

    Building my 40x60x16 shop + lean-to

Time to catch up 8 months. Rented a diamond brush for a floor sander can ground the new concrete and started putting down the primer, Armorclad ArmorPoxy, flake, and clear. This is the second kit of theirs I've done. First one was great, this one had a few spots that wouldn't harden even...

Replacing corrugated metal interior walls with OSB/drywall

Just a thought, I used LP Smartside 4x8 sheet cut in half on the bottom up to 48" high, then drywall on top. The siding gives a nicer look than OSB and is strong. I'll then put a trim piece on the seam.

Ideas for wall covering 12' wall in garage

Mine is under construction now, but my walls are 16'. I'll be doing corrugated metal on the bottom with J-trim on the top and bottom edges. Then drywall on top. <img src="https://i.ibb.co/6mcJfx9/Photo-Mar-23-5-56-10-PMsmall.jpg" alt="Photo-Mar-23-5-56-10-PMsmall" border="0" />

Galvanized Tin Wainescoting on Studs, Backer needed?

I definitely want the ribs to be vertical. It’s extra work, but I may just nail 2x’s horizontal and flush between the studs so the tin isn’t spaced out from the wall. Sheet rock will be above it. I can use quarter round at the base of the sheet rock/top of the tin if I space it out with plywood...

Galvanized Tin Wainescoting on Studs, Backer needed?

See the attached picture. I am putting galvanized tin wainescoting in with J trim on top and bottom. Right now the walls are bare studs with bat insulation. WIll the J-trim be enough to support the edges that fall between 16" centers (sheets are 24" wide). If not, I've considered cutting 3"...
