Yes you could use 2 relays, I would not wire it that way. But as far as using the G terminal on the tstat. It is not energized in the heating mode. It gets powered thru the Y terminal or the fan auto/on switch.

You could wire it in place of the factory tstat. But the fan will run all the time. I prefer the fan cycle with the heat.

The NO/NC switch is a safety limit. It will turn off the gas valve if the heat exchanger got to hot due to the fan not working. The time delay relay allows the heat exchanger to heat up before the fan starts. It should also allow the fan to run after the gas valve closes to cool the heat...

Try to find an HVAC company that could make it for you.

Its called a plenum. I would look for a prefab one or get one made to fit the furnace. Then put a round collar on the top to connect to the round ductwork.
