They are called weld on fittings. Any reputable hose shop should have them.

I've installed quite a few of these, they are simplicity perfected. It uses a ball valve and as such when opened is a straight through design. I imagine it flows very well when compared to a traditional design. This has the same vented back as the Oetiker unit which I know the OP doesn't care...

Bump for an update. Been enjoying this thread. Also a question. I know I always try to protect my hearing when possible, but I rarely find myself disconnecting a charged 25' airhose. Is that something you do frequently? Not a criticism, just a question.

Correct. This 7/16 socket is larger than than the 12 mm socket both OD and ID. Both are 1/4 drive.

My toolbox is a mishmash of manufacturers from the random Snap-ON, Bonney, and Plomb to no-name India stamped garbage. I'm at the point where I'd like to get a little consistency in brand with my sockets and wrenches so I can organize them better and my toolbox doesn't look like a bag of mashed...

The 12 mm is closest in size to the flats and the OD, but the 7/16 is larger in both respects.

I decided to give Tekton a try and bought a 1/4 and 3/8 socket set. First socket out of the case is the 7/16 which immediately rounds off the 1/4-20 nut I tried to tighten. Checked the nut against my 7/16 combo wrench and it fits. Pulled out my dial caliper and the socket is oversized by .045...

A picture would help. If a pipe fitting threads in but won't seal then I would suspect it is a British pipe fitting. That said British pipe fittings come in both tapered and parallel threads. If it is a parallel fitting threading into a cylinder, it will need a bonded washer.

All of the above. Shrapnel punctures and lacerated as well introduces bacteria into the body. High pressures cause damage to hollow organs as well as rupturing ear drums. Then you have the injuries caused by your body impacting things as you are thrown or fall.

Is it leaking at that top fitting? ETA: On the top of the tee? Too much pressure on fitting from the bend in the plastic hose most likely.

That looks to be a 3/8 or -6 male SAE fitting...typical for a propane application. ETA: It appears you can run that off of bottle pressure, but I would use a regulated hose similar to a BBQ hose from your local hardware store. Or try a RV store for a longer hose.
